Win a gig pass to see Jon Stevens at The Station in Newcastle on April 18
SING IT: Jon Stevens will bring his Noiseworks and INXS Collection Tour to The Station in Newcastle on April 18. The Examiner has a double pass to the show to give away.

After not seeing each other for 15 years, it came as a surprise to Jon Stevens when friend Andrew Farriss, a co-founding member of INXS, entered his band room following a gig in 2018.

Farriss said to Stevens: "That was an awesome gig Jon, but you really need to do more INXS songs".

Stevens was on The Best of Jon Stevens Tour, reflecting on his 40-year career, and performing songs from Noiseworks, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Dead Daisies and his solo collection. Just a couple of INXS classics were peppered into the tour.

This reunion with his old friend with whom he'd shared the stage with around the world when fronting INXS from 2000 to 2005 formed the idea for Stevens' new tour.

After a sell-out tour in 2019, Stevens is back celebrating Noiseworks and INXS - the legendary bands that catapulted him into Aussie rock royalty.

The Noiseworks and INXS Collection Tour brings hits Take Me Back, New Sensation, Touch, Don't Change, Hot Chilli Woman, Never Tear Us Apart and No Lies.

He will tour the show to The Station in Newcastle on Sunday, April 18.

Aaron Philpott, a spokesman for tour promoter Big Apachee, said the show was a "visceral charge of emotion" that will transport the audience back to 1987 and beyond as it included the "INXS songs that were such a huge part of the soundtrack of our lives".

"To this day Jon Stevens is one of Australia's finest frontmen," Philpott said. "The setlist on this tour is non-stop - one hit after another.

"Combining that with a voice and stage presence that both scream absolute power and Jon's got the audience in the palm of his hand all night long."

Tickets, $60.70 each (including booking fee), to see Stevens at The Station are on sale now through BigTix.com.au. The show begins at 4pm.

The Examiner has one double pass to give away to the show. To win, send your name, contact number a reason why you would love to see Stevens at The Station in an email titled "INXS" to emwatts@austcommunitymedia.com.au.

The winner of the double pass will be notified by phone by 5pm on Thursday, April 15.
