Hi everyone! I won a competition on a Brisbane radio station this morning (on 97.3) to win a Christmas party for 30 people at the Port Office Hotel. It's valued at about $2000. needless to say my work are very happy with me
To win you had to tell a funny Christmas party story, so I decided to tell the story of how last year, one of the girls got a little tipsy and left her handbag in the carpark on her way home. Some tradies found it the next day and called her, but she had to go to where they were working to pick it up to get it - and they were working at Boggo Road jail. she was very embarassed!
My story isn't that special - but here is my tip for comps - you have to do something different. So I set it to the tune of Gilligan's island....... and here it is! Thought I'd share my tip (just don't steal my Gilligan's island idea lol).
And here's the tale..................................................................... (oh and i didn't name the poor girl I just used her initial)
Now sit right back and you’ll hear a tale
A tale of a Christmas ale
It started with a few quiet drinks
And ended at a jail
Now A she is a carefree girl
She likes to dance around
And when she has imbibed a few
Then she is trouble bound

The party started winding down
She called her brother Tom
To come along and drive her home
He wouldn’t be too long
While waiting for her chariot
She rested on a seat
And when her brother picked her up
Her bag stayed underneath

Fast forward to the morning light
Her phone it starts to ring
Who could phone so early on
Who would do such a thing?
Some tradies working at a jail
Had stopped in for a pie
And there while having breakfast
Her handbag they did spy

What lovely blokes what awesome men
So honest and so true
But for our A to get her bag
There was something she must do
They worked that day at Boggo Road
A quiet infamous place
And to collect her lovely bag
She’d have to show her face

Of that she now can brag
And when she goes out drinking
She wear’s a black bum-bag
