won a trip to berlin through smirnoff but couldnt go because of the volcano thing they called me today said they are giving me 16 grand to spend to travel anywhere in the world any suggestions what i should do

Wow, you lucky thing! Congratulations. Berlin would have been wonderful, it's a great city but now you can go ANYWHERE... fantastic. I've always wanted to go to Tahiti in one of those huts over the water. Oh to dream!!

How fantastic! While you have that much to splurge on airfares, it SOOOOO has to be a northern Italy escapade! Venice, train to Milan or Florence, Siena then across to the Cinque Terre and splurging in a luxury little hotel like this one... http://www.torrettas.com/Seafood dinners, vineyard walks, Mediterranean views... I'll show you the way if you need a guide!!!!!!! Forget Asia or anywhere nearby. Catch a cheap Jetstar fare there any day!!! |

I wish i had your problem.. deciding where to go! Why one place? Round the world trip!! What kind of things interest you? Who is going? Family? just you and a partner? etc. I am happy to suggest places. Out of europe I adored Turkey, Italy vence and flourence, rome not so much, France (Paris) I could go on and on and on... Funny I adore Rome, liked Venice, and was underwhelmed by Turkey and Florence - it's wonderful how different we all are. I suppose it depends how long you have to plan. Problems with the volcano could go on for months (or just days) so Europe could be a problem but if you're planning on going next year it would be lovely. Good luck with whatever you decide and make sure you get good insurance - my daughter says I worry too much - I'm sure you'll agree. Have a wonderful trip wherever you decide on. |

So many places to choose from!! Wow...what a decision for you to make!
I know people have been suggesting Europe, which is great, however keep in mind that the volcano is still active and flights are still being cancelled/postponed there daily. I know just last week Amsterdam was shut down yet again.
That being said.....it depends who you are travelling with and what you want to see. $16000 will get you a long way! New York, Canada, Alaska...they are a few on my to do list!
Good luck...I am sure you will have a ball wherever you choose to go!
