The Sorcerer's Apprentice competition terms and conditions

1. Information on how to enter the competition forms part of the competition conditions.
2. Competition entry is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
3. Prizes: There are five (5) The Sorcerer's Apprentice prize packages as the prizes for this competition. Each prize package consists of:
four (4) in-season tickets to see The Sorcerer's Apprentice, valid at all participating cinemas screening the film for the entire theatrical season;
one (1) x USB;
one (1) lenticular mouse pad;
one (1) branded cap;
one (1) blockmounted poster;
one (1) notebook.
Each prize package is valued at $200 each.
The prizes are not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Any additional expenses incurred by the prize winners, other than those outlined in these terms and conditions, are the responsibility of the winners. Prizes are themselves subject to the specific terms and conditions of the providers.
If the prizewinner is under the age of 18, the prize may (at the absolute discretion of the Promoter) be awarded to the prizewinner's parent or guardian.
4. The competition period: The competition opens at 10am on Thursday 19 August 2010 and closes at 10am on Monday 13 September 2010.
5. How to enter: Entrants must fully and correctly complete and submit the entry form on the ourbrisbane.com website. Only one entry per person. If a person enters the competition more than once all subsequent entries will be deemed to be invalid
6. Eligibility: To be eligible to enter this competition, a person must:
a) be a permanent resident of the State of Queensland;
b) fully and correctly complete and submit the entry form on the ourbrisbane.com website;
c) not be an employee or contractor of the Promoter or an immediate family member of employees or contractors of the Promoter;
d) be over the age of 18 (proof of age may required to receive prize) or have the consent of one of his or her parents or guardians to enter the competition.
7. Competition Draw: Winners will be randomly drawn by a Council Officer at 11am on Monday 13 September 2010. Winners of the prizes will be the first eligible entry randomly drawn. The decision of that officer shall be conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.
8. Winner Notification: The winners will be notified by telephone or email and their name and suburb will be published at http://www.ourbrisbane.com/competitions. The winners will not be officially published in a newspaper.
9. Re-Draw: If the winner does not claim the prize or cannot be contacted by email within three (3) days of the competition draw date the Promoter will redraw the prizewinner until a contactable winner has been located and the prize is claimed.
10. No Liability of Promoter: The Promoter accepts no responsibility whatsoever for late, misplaced, lost or ineligible entries. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of the prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury sustained in connection with the entry into the competition or acceptance of the prize. This paragraph is not intended to exclude any liability which cannot be excluded under Australian consumer protection laws. Any such liability is limited to the resupply of the prize.
11. The Promoter reserves the right to alter or amend these terms and conditions and/or to cancel the competition at any time prior to the competition opening without further recourse to the entrants.
12. Important – Privacy: By entering into this competition, the entrant consents to information (including personal information) given by the entrant being stored on the Promoter’s database for use by the Promoter for the purpose of internal statistical analysis relating to the Promoter’s competitions.
13. Force Majeure: If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter), which corrupts or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify all entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with, the entry process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.
14. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it’s determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
15. The Promoter of the competition is Brisbane City Council ABN 72 002 765 795, whose principal offices are at Brisbane Square, 226 George Street, Brisbane, QLD, 4001.
