Eight Writers: Eight Ways to Be Human
Friday 27 August, 7pm, Melbourne Town Hall

Celebrate the launch of the Melbourne Writers Festival 2010 on Friday 27 August as you are given the chance to join writers on a unique and creative journey to explore ‘Eight Ways to be Human’. Share with us your favourite author and you could win one of ten double passes for the opening night.

Eight festival guests, comprising novelists, scientists, philosophers, memoir writers and playwrights, will share readings from their work, which will explore the eternal question of what really makes us human.

Barry Dickins, Norman Doidge, Jostein Gaarder, Cate Kennedy, Fiona McGregor, Alex Miller, Nadifa Mohamed and Brenda Walker bring unexpected insights in an evening laced with wit, sex, tragedy and humour.

Don’t miss this amazing line-up – the perfect way to launch ten days of fabulous literary happenings
