The Best of Jane Austen Competition Terms & Conditions

This document sets out the terms of participation in ABC's “The Best of Jane Austen” competition (the "Competition").
1.The Promoter of this competition is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (the "Promoter") (ABN 524 292 78345), 700 Harris Street, Ultimo, New South Wales, Australia.
2.Entry to the Competition is open to each person who visits and completes the entry requirements from the ABC Shop Online website during the period commencing 8th April 2011 and ending 5pm AEDST 30th April, 2011 ("Competition Period"). An entrant must be an individual and not a company or organisation. Entrants under 18 years of age must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter. Employees of the Promoter or any person associated with the Competition and their immediate families, or any organisation or individual associated with the provision of the prize(s) are not eligible to enter.
3.Each entry must be entered in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. By entering the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter may in its discretion refuse to award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
4.Entry into the Competition is free.
5.To enter the Competition you must:
oComplete the online entry form
oSubmit your entry online during the competition period.
6.Each entry must include your name, address, and a valid email address or it will be deemed invalid.
7.By entering the Competition, an entrant is eligible to win:
oThe major prize as set out in clause 11 below ("Major Prize").
8.Any entry received after the expiry of the Competition Period will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed or misdirected entries.
9.An entrant may not enter the Competition more than once.
10.All entries in the competition go into a random draw. Entries received after 5pm AEST on 30st April, 2011 will not be eligible for the prize draw. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost, invalid or misdirected entries.
11.The thirty (30) major prize winners will receive
o1 Pride and Prejudice Notepaper Set consisting of 5x envelopes and 5x notepapers = $9.99
12.The major prize pack is valued at $9.99
13.The total prize pool is valued at $299.70
14.The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value.
15.No component of the prize can be transferred or redeemed for cash. In the event that any of the prizes become unavailable due to circumstances beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter reserves the right to provide a similar product to the same or greater value as the original prize, subject to any applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation.
16.All entries become the property of the Promoter and will not be returned to the entrants.
17.Each entrant warrants that any details provided with his/her entry are true and accurate and the entrant will indemnify the Promoter against any loss or damage resulting from any breach of this warranties.
18.Each entrant agrees that the Promoter may use the entry and any personal details provided to the Promoter for any promotional, marketing and publicity purposes of the Promoter in any media without notice and without any fee paid to the entrant.
19.Decisions of the Promoter are final and will be binding on each person who enters the Competition and no correspondence will be entered into. Each Major Prize Winner will be notified using the contact details provided with the Major Prize Winner's entry. The name of each Major prize Winner and the state in which each lives, will be posted on the Website. Please allow at least 28 days from the date of notification for the delivery of the prize.
20.If there is any event that prevents or hinders the Promoter's conduct of the Competition or the Promoter's ability to deliver the prizes to the Prize Winners of the Competition, the Promoter may, in its discretion, cancel the Competition and recommence it at another time under the same conditions or select another winner.
21.The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
