‘House of Bose’ Competition
Information on how to enter the ‘House of Bose’ competition forms part of these terms and conditions. Any entry not complying with these terms and conditions is invalid.

Start & End Dates: The competition period commences at 12.01am AEDT on 23 November 2013 & closes at 11:59pm AEDT on 31 January 2014 (“Competition Period”).
Conditions of Entry: To enter the ‘House of Bose’ competition, the participant must be over 18 years of age and a resident of Australia or New Zealand. A participant will only be eligible to enter when one or more of the following products are purchased and paid for in full during the Competition Period:
• Lifestyle® 535 Series II Home Entertainment System;
• Lifestyle® 525 Series II Home Entertainment System;
• Lifestyle® 235 Series II Home Entertainment System;
• Lifestyle® 135 Series II Home Entertainment System; and/or
• SoundTouchTM 30, SoundTouchTM 20 or SoundTouchTM Portable Wi-Fi system.
(each an “Eligible System”). Lay-by purchases of an Eligible System must be made prior to the close of the Competition Period and paid for in full by 11.59pm AEDST on 31 January 2014 in order to be eligible to enter. The Eligible System must be purchased from an authorised Bose reseller within Australia or New Zealand (including third party operated Bose Stores), a company owned Bose Store or Bose online. www.bose.co.nz for an authorised reseller or Bose Store near you or obtain a list of authorised resellers and Bose Stores by phoning the Customer Care Centre on 1800 023 367 (Australia) or 0800 501 511 (NZ).
Method of Entry: To enter, visit
www.houseofbose.com.au if in Australia or
www.houseofbose.co.nz if in New Zealand and fully complete the online form (including full name, address, phone number, email address, place of purchase, serial number of Eligible system and a copy of invoice) to register your purchase of an Eligible System. Registration closes at 11.59pm AEDT on 31 January 2014. Each Eligible System validly purchased during the Competition Period will earn the participant one (1) entry into the ‘House of Bose’ competition.
Restrictions on Entry: Employees & their immediate families of Bose Pty Limited and authorised Bose resellers associated with this competition are ineligible to enter. Consumers who obtain an Eligible Product through an insurance claim do not qualify for entry into the competition. Entrants must retain a clear copy of their original customer sales invoice as proof of a valid purchase during the Competition Period. Verification is at the discretion of Bose Pty Limited, whose decision is final.
Product returns: If the system purchased during the Competition Period is returned to the place of purchase for a refund (other than in circumstances where the system is faulty) prior to 17 February 2014 the participant will no longer be eligible to enter the ‘House of Bose’ competition.
Prizes: The ‘House of Bose’ major prize pack consists of the following:
• one (1) Lifestyle® 535 Series II Home Entertainment system (RRP AU$4499 / NZ$5699)
• one (1) SoundTouchTM Stereo JC system (RRP AU$1599/ NZ$1999)
• one (1) SoundTouchTM20 Wi-Fi system (RRP AU$549 / NZ$699)
• one (1) SA-4 amplifier (AU $699/ NZ$869)
• one (1) pair of 251 outdoor speakers (RRP AU$669/ NZ$899) (“Major Prize Pack”)
Total RRP of Major Prize Pack = RRP AU$8015 / NZ$10165
Sixty (60) runners up will each receive one (1) pair of QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Canceling headphones ‘Limited Edition’ (RRP AU$399 / NZ$499)
Total RRP of all prizes in the competition = AU$31955 / NZ$40105.
All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The prizes are not transferable, not exchangeable for other goods or services and cannot be taken as cash. Bose Pty Limited reserves the right to substitute a prize or element of a prize of equal or greater value and its sole discretion, subject to any directions from the relevant authorities. Winners will not be entitled to any additional compensation in the event that the prize or element of a prize has been substituted at equal or greater value. Prizes will be delivered to winners within 30 days of the close of the Competition Period, subject to product availability, or to any delivery delays. Limit applies of one prize per person.
Draws & Notification of Winners: Drawn by random electronic draw at 2.00 pm AEDT on 17 February 2014 at Bose Pty Limited, 3/2 Holker Street, Newington, NSW 2127, Australia. The first valid entry drawn will win the Major Prize. The next sixty (60) valid entries drawn will receive a Minor Prize. The winners will be notified by phone and in writing within two working days of the draw with the Major Prize winner’s name (and suburb, if a South Australian winner) published in The Australian and the New Zealand Herald on 3 March 2014. If necessary, a second chance draw will be held at the same time and place as the initial draw on 2 June 2014 in order to distribute any unclaimed prizes. Second chance draw winners will be notified by phone and in writing within 2 days of the second chance draw. If the Major Prize forms part of the second chance draw, the Major Prize winner’s name (and suburb, if a South Australian winner) will be published in The Australian and The New Zealand Herald on 9 June 2014.
Consumer rights: Winners have rights under the Australian Consumer Law and other similar legislation which cannot be excluded or limited by Bose Pty Limited. These rights include statutory guarantees that any goods provided by Bose Pty Limited will be of acceptable quality and fit for purpose, and that any services provided by Bose Pty Limited will be rendered with due care and skill. These terms and conditions do not, and do not intend to, exclude or limit those statutory rights in any way. However, to the extent that it is permitted to do so, Bose Pty Limited makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, under laws other than the Australian Consumer Law regarding the quality or suitability of the prizes awarded as part of this competition and will not be responsible for breach of any such representations or warranties.
Limitation of liability: Bose Pty Limited (including its officers, employees and agents) will not be responsible for any personal injury or loss or damage which is suffered (including but not limited to loss of opportunity, profits, goodwill or business revenue, and any other special, indirect or consequential losses) arising in any way out of this competition including, but not limited to, injury, loss or damage which arises as a result of any of the following:
(a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Bose Pty Limited;
(b) electronic or human error which may occur in the administration of the competition or the processing of entries which is beyond the reasonable control of Bose Pty Limited;
(c) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference which impacts on the conduct of the competition and is beyond the reasonable control of Bose Pty Limited;
(d) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, stolen, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by Bose Pty Limited) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Bose Pty Limited;
(e) any variation in the prizes to those stated in these terms and conditions;
(f) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant;
(g) use of a prize; or
(h) any delays in the delivery of a prize,
except to the extent that such injury, loss or damage is due to the negligence or wilful misconduct of Bose Pty Limited, or otherwise cannot be excluded by law as referred to above.
