3. See any Oscar®-nominated film showing at Hoyts between 17 January – 2 March 2014 (inclusive). You will receive 1 entry for each unique Oscar®-nominated film you see.
4. The next day after your ticket purchase you will receive an email containing a link to a ballot entry form.
5. Tell us who you think will WIN in their nominated category at the 86th Academy Awards® by completing the entire ballot form.
6. Submit the completed ballot form including your Hoyts Rewards membership email address no later than Sunday 2 March 2014 by 11.59pm AEST to be eligible.

Terms and Conditions Participation
1. This promotion –“The Oscars® Win the ultimate Gift Bag”(“Promotion”) is conducted by The Hoyts Corporation Pty. Limited, of Level 50, 680 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, ABN 31 006 082 551 (“Promoter”).
2. Information regarding prizes and how to enter forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Submission of an entry into this promotion is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Entries not completed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions are ineligible.
3. Entry is only open to Hoyts Rewards members who are permanent residents of NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, SA & WA. Entrants must present themselves as a Hoyts Rewards member when purchasing a ticket in person in cinema or log in as a Hoyts Rewards members when buying online for a selected 86th Academy Award® nominated film session between 12.01am AEDST on Friday 17 January and 11.59pm AEDST Saturday 1 March 2014 at a participating Hoyts cinema in NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD or SA. Directors, management and employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, participating retailers, agencies and companies associated with this Promotion are ineligible to enter. Entrants who are under the age of 18 years old must obtain their parent’s consent before entering. If a winner is under the age of 18 they must provide details of a parent or guardian aged over 18 years of age to accept the prize on their behalf.

5. The Promotion commences at 12:01am AEDST on 17 January 2014 and final entries close at 11.59pm AEDST on 2 March 2014 (the “Promotional Period”). To be a valid entry, all of the necessary information must be included with an entry and the entry must be received by the Promoter during the applicable Promotional Period explained above.
6. Each entrant can enter once (1) per unique film transaction and must present themselves as a Hoyts Rewards member when purchasing a ticket in person in cinema or log in as a Hoyts Rewards members when buying online for an eligible 86th Academy Award® nominated film session at a participating Hoyts cinema in NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD or SA or online at, during the promotional period.

8. Hoyts Rewards members are required to present themselves as a Hoyts Rewards member when purchasing a ticket in person in cinema or log in as a Hoyts Rewards members when buying online at
www.hoyts.com.au when purchasing tickets to a selected 86th Academy Award® nominated film showing at Hoyts between 12.01am AEDST on Friday 11 January 2013 to 11.59pm AEDST on Saturday 1 March 2014 from Participating Hoyts Cinema in NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD or SA. Eligibility is based on one (1) entry per Unique Oscar® Nominated Film transaction only. For clarity members who see the same Oscar Nominated film more than once will only be eligible to complete a ballot once, regardless of the number of times they see the specific film. If the member sees an additional film that is also nominated they will receive 1 entry for each unique Oscar® nominated film they see at Hoyts during the promotional period. Eligible Hoyts Rewards members who meet the above requirement will receive an email the next day if they have opted in to receive weekly newsletters & Hoyts offers with a link to complete their ballot entry.
9. To enter, Hoyts Rewards members will be asked to provide their Hoyts Rewards email address (the email address associated with their Hoyts Rewards Membership, this can be found at
www.hoyts.com.au/hoytsrewards log in, edit details) and answers as to who they think will win this year’s Academy Awards® in selected categories and a tie-breaker question for use if a tie occurs. A link to the ballot will be provided in the email. The questions will be in the form of nineteen (19) separate multiple choice questions. All nineteen (19) questions and one (1) free text box for the tie-breaker question 'If you were accepting an Oscar and the music started to play what you do that is out of the ordinary to continue your acceptance speech' must be answered in order to submit an entry.. All entries must be submitted by 11:59pm AEDST on Sunday 2 March 2014.
10. The nineteen (19) multiple choice 86th Academy Award® category questions are as follows: best performance by an actor in a leading role, best performance by an actor in a supporting role, best performance by an actress in a leading role, best performance by an actress in a supporting role, best animated feature film of the year, achievement in production design, achievement in cinematography, achievement in costume design, achievement in directing, achievement in film editing, achievement in makeup & hairdressing, best original score, best original song, best motion picture of the year, achievement in sound editing, achievement in sound mixing, achievement in visual effects, best adapted screenplay and best original screenplay.
11. Entrants must retain proof of purchase to verify eligibility for entry if required.
12. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Promoter’s database, not time of transmission by the entrant.
Major Prize
12. Upon the release of the official results of the 86th Academy Awards®, each correct answer received will be awarded one (1) point.
13. The valid entry with the highest number of correct answers in total will win the Major Prize. The next two (2) valid entries with the highest number of correct answers will win the Runner-Up Prizes. In the event of a tie for a place (1st, 2nd and 3rd) each tied members tie-breaker answer will be used to determine the winners of either ‘The ultimate Gift Bag valued at $6,000!’ OR ‘10,000 Hoyts Rewards points’. The Major Prize winner and runners up will be notified by email within two (2) days of being determined.
14. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Major Prize Draw winner and runners up will have their name(s) published online at
www.hoyts.com.au in March 2014.
15. The 12 month supply of Hoyts movie tickets consists of two (2) Hoyts 2D general admission movie tickets per week for fifty two (52) weeks. Each set of two (2) weekly tickets are valid for seven (7) days only. Tickets cannot be accumulated. Tickets will be added to the winner's Hoyts Rewards membership account on a weekly basis from Thursday 13 March 2014 and can be viewed at the Hoyts Rewards website in the members bonuses section of
www.hoyts.com.au/hoytsrewards. Tickets can be redeemed in any Hoyts cinema in NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD or SA upon presentation of Hoyts Rewards membership card or online once the member has logged in. Each set of two (2) tickets are only valid for same film and same session. Not valid at Hoyts La Premiere, Directors Suite, Bean Bag Cinema, Xtremescreen, IMAX®, or for special events. Tickets must be taken as offered and are not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash. Not valid in conjunction with any other offer or special events (including gala screenings). Valid for any 3D session with an upgrade fee, in cinema purchase only, which will be applied at time of redemption. 3D glasses must be purchased separately at an additional cost.
16. All prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Runner Up Prizes
17. Each winner of a Runners Up Prize will receive 10,000 Hoyts Rewards Bonus Points valued at $100 AUD. The Runners Up Prizes are not transferable for cash and are bound by the terms and conditions of the Hoyts Rewards Program available at
www.hoyts.com.au/hoytsrewards.
For the sake of clarity, there is one (1) Major Prize valued at $6,681.34 AUD including GST and two (2) Runner Up Prizes valued at $100 AUD each.
General
18. The total prize pool is valued at up to $6881.34 AUD including GST.
19. All prizes must be taken as offered. No portion of the prizes are redeemable for cash. All prizes are non- refundable, exchangeable or transferable. The prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other special offer. The prizes are valued in Australian dollars. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize values. Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their prize. In the event that a portion of the prize is awarded to the winner in the form of a voucher / ticket / pass, redemption of that portion of the prize will be subject to the terms and conditions stipulated on the voucher / ticket / pass. The Promoter will not be liable for any voucher / ticket / pass that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies accept no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
20. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
21. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility is accepted for entries not received by the Promoter. Entries will be deemed void if incomplete, indecipherable, illegible, stolen, forged or mutilated in any way.
22. If any prize is unavailable, the Promoter, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to substitute that prize with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority. The Promoter accepts no other liability or responsibility for any loss.
23. If any of the prize winners cannot be contacted or do not claim the prizes by 12.00pm (AEST) on 1 April 2014, the Promoter reserves the right to conduct such further draws as may be deemed necessary to distribute the prizes and avoid the relevant date passing. In the event of a redraw on 1 April 2014, the winner’s details will be published online at
www.hoyts.com.au on 10 April 2014.
24. The Promoter shall conduct such further draws as may be deemed necessary in accordance with the above at Level 50, 680 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000. Prize winners, if any, will be contacted by phone and in writing within two (2) days of the re-draw date.
25. If for any reason the conduct or operation of the Promotion is interfered with or disrupted in any way (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or technical failures), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend or recommence the Promotion, subject to the approval of the authorities that have issued permits for its conduct.
26. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for: (i) any error, omission, interruption, or delay in the operation or transmission of any communication including any communication sent to (or by) the Promoter or any entrant whether caused by problems with communication networks or lines, computer systems, software or internet service providers, or otherwise, (ii) any theft, destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of such communications; (iii) any problem with, or technical malfunction of, any computer system or other equipment used for the conduct of the Promotion; (iv) any incorrect or incomplete information which may be communicated in the course of the administering this Promotion (whether as a result of one of the foregoing causes or otherwise).
27. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limit, exclude or modify or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion.
28. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for, and the entrant releases the Promoter from responsibility for, any failure to receive an entry or for inaccurate information or for any loss, claim, damage or injury to person or property (including computer systems and servers) as a result of the entrant’s participation in this promotion or the conduct of the promotion generally or as a direct or indirect result of an entrant’s error, any technical problem of any kind including communications or network failure, unauthorised access to, transferring or theft of data, whether caused by the entrant or associated with the equipment or programming used in the conduct of this promotion. If, because of any such problem, this promotion is not able to be conducted as planned and/or the promotion’s administration, security, fairness or integrity are compromised or affected, the Promoter may (where necessary with the approval of the relevant Department) cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion and/or disqualify any entrant involved in interfering or tampering with the conduct of this promotion in any way.
29. Details from all entries will be collected and used for the purposes of conducting this promotion (which may include disclosure to third parties for the purpose of processing and conducting the promotion) and for publicity purposes surrounding this promotion. By entering this promotion entrants consent to the use of their information as described.
