Broadway’s biggest blockbuster Wicked is coming to Melbourne’s Regent Theatre from May 11.
Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked tells the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood; the other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.
How these two unlikely friends grow to become Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda, the Good, makes for the most spellbinding musical in years.
Wicked is a dazzling display of glitz, glamour and spellbinding special effects, but in addition to its spectacle, it is wonderfully warm, witty and funny. It’s a story that grabs at the heart strings.
The Australian Jewish News has five double passes to give away to the show on Wednesday, May 7 at 8pm at the Regent Theatre.
