The four winners will be notified by Thursday 31 July and are required to be available to participate in two rehearsals on Tuesday 5 August and Friday 8 August, as well as the Google+ Hangout on Saturday 9 August at 1pm (AEST).James Cameron Google+ Hangout Promotion - Terms and Conditions: Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these conditions. The Promoter is Telstra Corporation Limited (ABN 33 051 775 556) of 175 Liverpool Street, Sydney NSW 2000 (“we”, “us” and “our”).
The promotion starts 9 am AEST on 15 July 2014. Entries close and must be received by 11.00 pm AEST on 29 July 2014 (“Promotion Period”).
‘Who can enter?’
Entry is open to all Australian residents, who are Telstra customers, over the age of 18. Employees or contractors of the promoter and other companies associated with the promotion and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
‘How do you enter?’
To enter, you must, during the promotion period:
visit the following website
www.telstra.com/movies (“website”);
answer the following question in 25 words or less: “What would you ask film director James Cameron about his DEEPSEA CHALLENGE Expedition?”; and
complete the entry form in full and submit,
‘Eligible entry’.
Multiple entries permitted, however, each entry must be substantially different, submitted separately and in accordance with the entry requirements.
By entering the promotion, you:
warrant that your entry is your own original work and does not infringe any third party rights;
grant us (and our related bodies corporate, agents, licensees and assigns) a royalty free, worldwide, perpetual, transferable and irrevocable licence to use, modify, adapt, publish and sublicense your entry anytime, anywhere and by any means without compensation; and
to the extent permitted by law, consent to us (and our related bodies corporate, agents, licensees and assigns) infringing your moral rights in your entry for an indefinite period of time and waive all moral rights in your entry that arise outside Australia.
Entries that are incomplete, incorrect or illegible will be deemed invalid.
‘Prizes and Judging’
This is a game of skill only. There is no element of chance in determining the winners.
There are four (4) major prizes to be won and twenty (20) minor prizes to be won.
The major prize is:
the opportunity to participate in an online Google+ Hangout with film director James Cameron, and ask him your question. This is a money can’t buy experience; and
Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 2014 edition, valued at $768 (inc GST) with $60 pre-paid credit (“major prize“); and
the minor prize is a signed copy by James Cameron of DEEPSEA CHALLENGE 3D on DVD, valued at $19.95 (inc GST) (“minor prize”).
The total prize pool value is $3,711 (incl. GST).
Judging of all eligible entries will take place on 30 July 2014 at level 7, 175 Liverpool Street, Sydney NSW 2000. Our decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The major prize will be awarded to the four eligible entrants judged to have the most creative entries. The minor prize will be awarded to the twenty eligible entrants judged to have the next most creative entries.

Winners will be notified by telephone and in writing by 31 July 2014.
If a prize is not claimed by 5.00pm AEST on 1 August 2014, or a winner is disqualified in accordance with these terms and conditions, the prize will be forfeited and distributed at our discretion.
‘Prize Conditions’
The Google+ Hangout is scheduled to take place on Saturday 9 August 2014 at 1.00pm AEST and must take place on the date and time specified. We will provide a tablet with pre-paid credit to the major prize winners to enable them to participate in the Google+ Hangout from their home. All other costs associated with the major prize are the responsibility of the winners.
By accepting the major prize and participating in the Google+ Hangout, the major prize winners each acknowledge and agree:
they are to formulate 1-2 pre-approved questions with Telstra and adhere to them whilst participating in the Google+ Hangout;
be available from 11.30pm to 12.30pm AEST on 9 August 2014 to allow for set up and testing of equipment;
participate in a trial a couple of days prior to the live event and a trial the day before the event for testing of equipment and connection to the Google+ Hangout (date to be confirmed by us in our absolute discretion);
follow the instructions given in the brief supplied prior to the Google+ Hangout outlining certain topics that are not to be discussed during the live event;
they must not act in an illegal or inappropriate manner while participating in the promotion, including making any comments that are defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable with respect to race, religion, origin or gender, not suitable for children, or otherwise unsuitable for publication;
we have the right in our absolute discretion to disconnect a winner from the Google+ Hangout should they not adhere to these guidelines; and
they agree to follow promptly and carefully all instructions given by us and any of our employees, subcontractors and agents while participating in the live event.
The recording, or parts of the recording, from the Google+ Hangout, including the participation from the major prize winners, may be made publicly available by Telstra.
We will not be held responsible if James Cameron is no longer available to participate in the Google+ Hangout due to last minute scheduling issues (or any other reason) and the Google+ Hangout is cancelled. We are not obliged to provide an alternative major prize.
We will not be liable for any technical issues which may arise when participating in the prize, including but not limited to the winners’ hardware/software, broadband connection or the Google+ service.
We do not guarantee that James Cameron will sign the DVD described in clause 10(b).
You are only eligible to win one prize. We reserve the right to withdraw a prize if there are no eligible entrants to receive that prize.
By accepting a prize, you agree to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable marketing activities relating to the prize including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. We reserve the right to use your comments, image and name for advertising and publicity purposes in any media in perpetuity without compensation.
A prize, or any unused portion of a prize, cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. All other expenses associated with the prizes are the responsibility of the winners.
‘General’
We reserve the right, at any time, and in our sole discretion to (a) request entrants to provide proof of identity and/or proof of valid entry (b) disqualify any entrant who we have reason to believe has breached any of these conditions or engaged in any unlawful or other improper conduct or any conduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion.
Entries are accepted at the time of receipt by us. We will not be held liable for any entries not received for any reason during the promotion period.
We are not liable for any prize that may be lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way after it leaves our possession.
We are not responsible for any variation in the value of a prize.
If we are unable to provide a winner with a prize (or part of a prize), we may supply an alternative prize (or that part of the prize) at our discretion.
If for any reason, we are not able to conduct the promotion as planned, including due to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, any technical difficulties or any other causes beyond our control, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, we reserve the right in our sole discretion to take any action that may be available.
We exclude all warranties in relation to the quality, suitability or merchantability of a prize, except those that cannot be excluded by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any liability of the Promoter or its employees or agents for breach of any rights a consumer may have which are unable to be excluded under Australian Law, is limited to the payment of the costs of having the prize supplied again.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss (including indirect and consequential loss) or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the promotion including the supply of goods or services by any person to the prize winners, and where applicable to any persons accompanying the prize winners. We accept no responsibility for any tax liabilities that may arise from winning the prize.
