Australia’s favourite folkie siblings Angus & Julia Stone have announced that their first album since 2010’s Down The Way (which featured Hottest 100 topper Big Jet Plane) will be out on Fri Aug 1.
The self-titled Angus & Julia Stone was recorded in the US with the chameleonic Rick Rubin, whose recent work has taken him from the extremes of Eminem’s Berzerk to Black Sabbath’s 13. Toning it down a notch for the Stone siblings, Rubin is full of praise for the pair.
“Angus and Julia are truly unique musicians,” he said in a press release. “They are authentic and pure people who do things from the heart. I’ve never worked with anyone like them before.”
Since their last album release, Angus & Julia Stone have been busy with separate ventures. In 2012 they both released solo albums, Broken Brights and By The Horns respectively.
