Give us a ‘K’, ‘I’, ‘M’… ‘BRA!’. We are the number-one cheer squad for the New Zealand-born singer who is making it big in the music business. Her second album, the very amazing and sense-exploding The Golden Echo, is just out (find it here on iTunes) so to celebrate we are giving away some handsome large-format copies on vinyl, and a few CDs as well for those whose Discman’s have not yet bit the dust.
After releasing Vows in 2011, and a whirlwind media circus over her collaboration with Gotye on the Grammy award-winning song ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’, Kimbra took some time out in Los Angeles to write her second album and push her sound to a new level, working with artists like Daniel Johns of Silverchair, Flying Lotus, and Thundercat to produce a record so varied it is the musical pick ‘n’ mix of our dreams. From synthetic dance grooves to slow burners, this is an album that rewards repeat listens.
