The powerful new Australian concert drama Rolling Thunder Vietnam will be on in Adelaide for two nights only this September, as part of the Australian premiere season.
Set in the Vietnam War era, the evocative and stirring production showcases classic rock songs, performed by some of Australia’s finest singer-actors and musicians.
Based on extensive research, actual letters and first-hand interviews, these deeply personal stories are paired with iconic songs of the era from the likes of Steppenwolf, Joe Cocker, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Billy Thorpe, The Rolling Stones and Curtis Mayfield – just to name a few.
Rolling Thunder Vietnam brings to the stage a new generation of young musical talent including Wes Carr, Kimberley Hodgson, Tom Oliver, Matt Pearce, Vanessa Krummenacher and Will Ewing.
What’s more, Sony Music has released a companion album Rolling Thunder Vietnam – Songs that Defined A Generation, which includes some of the tracks featured in the show, as well as others selected from that defining period.
This edition, samotor readers could win one of three double passes to the performance at the Thebarton Theatre on 19 September 2014, plus a copy of Sony’s newly released soundtrack.

The competition commences on 20 August 2014 and finishes on 8 September 2014.
The competition consists of three prizes in total. The winners will receive a double pass to attend The Rolling Thunder Vietnam - Songs that Defined A Generation at 7.30pm on Friday 19 September, at the Thebarton Theatre. Plus, each winner will receive a copy of Sony’s newly released soundtrack.
Prize value is in Australian dollars. Individual prize value is $114.89. Total prize pool valued at $344.67.
Entry into this promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Only current financial RAA members are eligible to enter.
To enter, the entry form featured on the RAA competitions page (
www.raa.com.au/competitions) must be filled in.
The winners will be drawn through a random process.
All draws will take place at the RAA, 101 Richmond Rd, Mile End on 8 September at 2pm.
The first entries drawn that fulfil the competition entry criteria will win the prizes.
The winners will be notified by email, mail or phone within 14 days of the draw date.
The winners will be published in the next edition of samotor magazine released on 12 November 2014.
The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or taken for cash.
The promoter’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
