Buy your copy of The West Australian and The Weekend West between Monday 1 September and Tuesday 30 September to find your unique code.

Register your unique code by 3pm of the day that it is published for your chance to be that day’s finalist.

A finalist will be drawn at random each day.

The finalist will be published in the following edition of The West Australian/The Weekend West and they will need to contact The West Australian for their chance to WIN $50,000.



HOW TO ENTER
Simply purchase The West Australian and The Weekend West between Monday 1 September and Tuesday 30 September to find your unique code.
Register your unique code online before 3pm of the day that it is published for your chance to be in that days’ draw to become a finalist.

HOW TO BECOME A FINALIST
A finalist will be randomly drawn each day from valid entries.
The finalist will be published in the following edition of The West Australian (or The Weekend West if applicable) and will be required to contact The West Australian between 9am and 5pm that day to become a registered finalist. Only registered finalists will have the chance to WIN $50,000.

Note: Friday’s finalist will appear in the following Saturday’s edition of The Weekend West and will not be required to call The West Australian until the following Monday between 9am and 5pm.
Saturday and Sunday’s finalist will appear in the following Monday’s edition of The West Australian and will be required to call The West Australian between 9am and 5pm.

WINNERS
Once finalists have registered, they will be invited into The West Australian where they will choose one envelope out of 100. One envelope will contain a message representing the $50,000.
If the registered finalist draws the envelope with this message they will WIN $50,000.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
By entering the ‘Million Dollar Month’ competition you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

1. Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within the promotional advertisements and point of sale materials form part of these terms and conditions. By participating in this competition entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. The Promoters is West Australian Newspapers Limited of 50 Hasler Road, Osborne Park, WA 6017 [ABN 98 008 667 632].
Who Can Enter
3. The competition is open to all residents of Western Australia aged 18 years or older. Employees of the Promoter, their subsidiaries, their advertising agencies, participating newsagents & resellers of The West Australian and The Weekend West newspapers, and their immediate families are ineligible to enter. Immediate family includes spouse, defacto spouse, parent, natural or adopted child or sibling living under the same roof. Competition Period

4. The competition commences on Monday, 1 September, 2014 and concludes on Tuesday, 30 September, 2014.

5. There are 30 (thirty) daily competition periods running until 3pm for the entire month of September.

6. Each daily competition period will be followed by a competition draw at 3:30pm each day on the competition period.

How to Enter
7. To enter the daily competition you must:
7.1 Obtain a unique code from the front page of The West Australian on weekdays and on Travel magazine in The Weekend West during the promotional period.

7.2 For a valid entry, contestants must visit www.thewest.com.au/million. All mandatory details must be completed including name, address, contact phone number, email address and unique code before 3pm each day of the promotion.

7.3 Each unique code entitles one (1) entry.
Multiple entries are permitted, provided a different unique code is quoted each time.
8. In the event that a unique code is not published or legible on your copy of The West Australian or The Weekend West, a replacement unique code will be supplied by The West Australian subject to sighting the front page of The West Australian or Travel magazine of The Weekend West as proof of non-publication or illegibility of the code. Contact Customer Service on 1800 811 855.

Prizes
9. The West Australian is giving one finalist the chance to win $50,000 every day during the month of September)

10. In the event that a registered finalist does not win the major prize of $50,000 on that day, a cash consolation prize will be given of $500.
How to win
11. The daily draw to select each finalist will take place at 3:30pm (WST) each day of the promotion. Finalist will be drawn at random.

12. Entries registered using the unique code from The Weekend West will be valid for Saturday and Sundays’ finalist draw.

13. The name of the daily finalist will be featured in the Inside Cover section in the following days’ publication. Each weekend day finalist will be featured in the next Mondays’ publication. The finalist will be required to telephone The West Australian offices on 9482 9091 between the times of 9am and 5pm on the day that their name features in the publication in order to be a “Registered Finalist”.

14. Friday’s finalists printed in The Weekend West on Saturday will not be required to call The West Australian offices until the next Monday of the promotion. The finalist hotline will only be manned Monday to Friday between the times of 9am and 5pm.

15. If the finalist fails to contact The West Australian by 5pm on the day the publication features their name in Inside Cover, they forfeit the right to be become a registered finalist and will have no claim whatsoever on the major prize. No further draws for a registered finalist will be made in such an instance.

16. If Friday’s finalist printed in The Weekend West on Saturday fails to contact The West Australian by 5pm on the next Monday, they forfeit the right to be become a registered finalist and will have no claim whatsoever on the major prize. No further draws for a registered finalist will be made in such an instance.

17. Finalists that contact The West Australian and are confirmed as registered finalists, will be required to provide the same personal information used in entry for verification.

18. Failure to be verified as the daily winner will forfeit the position of daily winner for that given day.

19. Photo I.D will be required to be shown to participate in “The Game”.

The Game
20. The registered finalists will be required to attend Newspaper House, 50 Hasler Road Osborne Park in order to play the game. Registered finalists drawn between Monday, 1 September to Sunday, 7 September will be required to attend Newspaper House on Friday, 12 September, 2014; registered finalists drawn between Monday, 8 September to Sunday, 14 September will be required to attend Newspaper House on Friday, 19 September, 2014; registered finalist drawn between Monday, 15 September to Sunday, 21 September will be required to attend Newspaper House on Friday, 26 September, 2014; registered finalists drawn between Monday 22 September to Tuesday, 30 September will be required to attend Newspaper House on Friday, 3 October, 2014.

21. There will be 100 numbered envelopes on display at the commencement of the game. Of the envelopes, 1 (one) will contain a message representing $50,000 (Major Prize) and 99 will contain a message stating $500 (Consolation Prize). The registered finalist must select 1 (one) envelope. Once the registered finalist has selected the envelope, the prize revealed is the prize won, no further envelopes may be selected and, subject to verification by the Promoter, the registered finalist will be awarded the prize shown in the 1 (one) selected envelope as their prize (either $50,000 or $500).

22. When the registered finalist selects an envelope, they must do so without touching, handling or interfering in any way with the any of the other envelopes on display.

23. The game will be recorded in the presence of The Promoter's loss adjuster.

24. If the registered finalist lives in a regional/country location and is unable to attend Newspaper House to play, the game will be played via Skype or telephone.

Prize Claim
25. Cash prizes will be awarded on confirmation of details from the winner in the form of cheque or Electronic Funds Transfer and will be made payable to the registered finalist. Allow 28 days for the receipt of prize.

Privacy
26. Western Australian Newspapers Limited (ABN 98 008 667 632) and its related entities (“WAN”), are collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Competition, including for the purpose of identifying and notifying winners and understanding our audiences. WAN will otherwise handle your personal information in accordance with their respective Privacy Policies which contain information regarding how you can access your personal information, correct it and/ or make a complaint about our handling of your personal information. Seven West Media’s Privacy Policy is available at http://info.thewest.com.au/documents/WAN_PrivacyPolicy.pdf. By providing your personal information, you agree to the terms of these Privacy Policies. Without limiting the foregoing, WAN may disclose the entrant’s personal information to their related entities, business partners and external service providers for research and profiling purposes as well as other purposes reasonably related to the entrant’s relationship with them. In addition, by entering this competition, you consent to WAN using your personal information for the purpose of WAN entities sending you information regarding programs, products and services available through them and/ or through their business partners, and to WAN from time to time sharing your personal information with carefully selected business partners for the purpose of them sending you such information directly. We will always provide you with the ability to opt out of those communications.

27. If an Entrant does not want their details to be used for the purposes stated in clause 26. they must write to The West Australian by email to privacy@wanews.com.au or post to Privacy Officer, GPO Box D162 Perth WA 6840 and West Australian Newspapers Limited will ensure that the details are not used for that purpose.

28. It is a condition of entry that all prize winners agree to have their name, photo, video and suburb published for publicity purposes if required. By participating in this competition, participants signify their acceptance of all conditions and the requirement to participate in promotional activity if required.

General
29. The Promoters’ decision on all matters related to this competition is final and cannot be contested. No correspondence will be entered into. The Promoters’ reserve the right to limit entry or amend rules if considered necessary without notice.

30. The Promoters are not responsible for any data or other information related to this program that may be lost, damaged as a result of any computer software or hardware malfunction. Any issues occurring as a result of computer problems will be rectified as quickly as possible.

31. All entrants release from, and indemnify the Promoters against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize(s) or participation in the competition including (but not limited to) loss of income, personal injury and damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.

32. The Promoters reserve the right to disqualify any individual who the promoters believes have breached any of these terms and conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct. The Promoters have legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender.

33. The Promoters may, subject to State Regulations, terminate this competition at any time at its absolute discretion without liability to any contestant or other person.

34. On completion of the prize draw, all entries will be stored for a 12 month period at The West Australian. This is a mandatory requirement of the Gaming and Wagering Commission Act 1987.
