One of Australia’s most iconic events, the Woodford Folk Festival is celebrating its 29th year with a vibrant and ambitious programme.
Pulsing through Woodford’s veins is a deep love and appreciation for music. Having revealed the theme and poster for this year’s event back in September, organisers are calling on punters to explore the duality of life and their own existence through the expressions of the mask.
This year’s music programme highlights include: Violent Femmes (USA), Bertie Blackman, The Cat Empire, Archie Roach, Nahko And Medicine For The People (USA), The Topp Twins (NZ), Sticky Fingers, Kate Miller-Heidke, Jeff Lang, Lau (Scot), Matt Anderson (Can), Christine Anu, Tiny Ruins (NZ), Del Barber (Can), We Two Thieves, Shooglenifty (Scot), Led Kaapana (Haw), Hiatus Kiayote, Mia Dyson, Darren Middleton, John Smith (Eng), Jenn Grant (Can) and plenty more.
Beyond the music, Woodford welcomes the dreamers, the makers, the bards, the line-pushers, the history-makers and the leaders in their fields including: Bob Hawke, Josh Fox (USA), Rhoda Roberts, Uncle Jack Charles, Catherine Deveny, Sean Choolburra, Richard Fidler, Robert Llewellyn (Eng), Juice Rap News, Karen Middleton, Nigel Brennan, Tim Cope, Tenzin Choegyal, Professor Ian Lowe, Rod Quantock, Fiona Scott Norman, Anna Rose, Simon Sheikh and more.
The Woodford Folk Festival is the largest gathering of artists and musicians in Australia, this year featuring over 400 acts presenting 1,556 shows in 35 performance venues over 6 spectacular days and nights. Oh and guess what? We're giving away a double festival season pass valued at $1,112.
