Simply spend $25 in the city centre, take your receipts to the Elizabeth Mall Information Booth, and you’ll be handed an instant win card. Scratch the panel to see if you are an instant winner.
Each instant win card is also eligible to enter the second chance draw. To enter into the second chance draw, complete the back of the instant win card, and place it into the entry barrel. The second chance prize is a $2,000 city centre shopping spree – it’s that easy to WIN!

City of Hobart – Shop and Win Competition
Terms and Conditions
1. Information on how to enter and the prize/s forms part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.
2. The competition commences on Monday 1 December at 10:00am (EST) and concludes on Wednesday 24 December 2014 at 11.00am (EST).
3. Employees of the Hobart City Council and their immediate families are ineligible to enter this competition.
4. The competition is open to shoppers who spend a minimum $25 at one or more businesses in one day within the defined boundaries of the City of Hobart ‘One City Centre Shop Hobart’ campaign. This is defined as the area bounded by Harrington, Macquarie, Argyle and Brisbane streets, including both sides of these four perimeter streets.
5. To enter the competition, participants must take their receipts totalling a minimum $25 to the Elizabeth Mall Information Booth where they will be validated. Receipts must be presented on the day of purchase with the exception of Sundays as noted in point 9.
6. The $25 value can be made up by multiple receipts however, any receipt may only be used once.
7. Receipts will only be deemed valid if they are from a business within the city centre defined boundaries as stated in point 4.
8. Participants will receive a single instant win card, for receipt(s) to the value of $25 or above in a single transaction. Only one instant win card will be given for each transaction over $25.
9. Receipts can be taken to the Elizabeth Mall Information Booth Monday – Friday between the hours 10am-4pm and Saturday between the hours of 10am-2pm. Instant win cards will only be issued during these times, with one exception being Sundays. The Information Booth is not open on Sunday. Receipts from the preceding Sunday will be accepted the following Monday only.
10. Once the qualifying spend of a minimum $25 has been made, the participant will be provided with an instant win card. To see whether they have won an instant win prize, participants must scratch the instant win panel on the front of their instant win card.
11. Instant winners will be notified immediately of their win or otherwise in writing via the message under the scratch panel on their instant win card.
12. Instant prizes are random and will be offered to the winner as a random prize selection or ‘lucky dip’ by the Elizabeth Mall Information Booth officer.
13. Prizes: Instant prizes consist of the following;
a. 5 x IPAD MINI3 WI-FI 16GB S-GRAY valued at $450.91 each (total value $2,254.55)
b. 63 x various retailer gift cards/prizes to the total value of $3,990.
c. Second Chance Draw - major prize draw: $2,000 city centre shopping spree.
14. There is one Second Chance Draw Major Prize in the Shop and Win Competition. This prize consists of a $2,000 shopping spree for the city centre, as defined by the One Hobart boundaries defined in item 4.
15. Every participant who receives an instant win card will be given the opportunity to enter the Second Chance Draw to win the major prize of a $2,000 shopping spree for the city centre.
16. Each participant is to complete the reverse side of the instant win card (regardless of whether an instant prize is won) and hand it to the Elizabeth Mall Information Booth officer for entry into the major prize draw barrel.
17. The Second Chance Major Prize Draw will occur at 11.15am (EST) at the Elizabeth Mall Information Booth on Wednesday 24 December 2014. The randomly selected instant win card must be completed to denote a valid entry.
18. Entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt. Incomplete, incorrect or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid. No responsibility will be taken for lost, late or misdirected entries. All fields on the reverse of the instant win card must be complete to denote a valid entry into the Second Chance Draw Major Prize.
19. The Second Chance Draw Major Prize ($2,000 shopping spree) winner must agree to have their photo taken and, together with their name, published via Hobart City Council promotional channels.
20. The Second Chance Draw Major Prize winners’ name will be published on the Hobart City Council website and announced on 101.7HO FM.
21. The Second Chance Draw Major Prize winner will be notified by phone if able to be contacted by this means, or by mail within seven (7) days of the draw.
22. The Second Chance Draw Major Prize will be offered to the winner as a ‘shopping spree’ which will be valid for spending within a 6 month period, from January 2015 to June 2015 only.
23. The Second Chance Draw Major Prize winner will be asked to nominate retail businesses in which they intend to spend their winnings. The shopping spree will take the form of one or more gift cards, in the name of the retail business and to the value nominated by the winner, equalling a combined total value of $2,000.
24. The Second Chance Draw Major Prize spending spree gift cards may take up to twenty-one (21) working days to be delivered to the winner, after the date that the information provided by the winner has been received by the Hobart City Council.
25. The Second Chance Draw Major Prize winner is required to provide proof of identity upon receipt of the shopping spree gift cards.
26. All prizes must be taken as offered. Prize values are GST inclusive and are in Australian dollars.
27. The prizes are not transferable to any other person.
28. If any prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
29. The Hobart City Council will take the necessary steps to ensure that any personal information provided by entrants in this competition remains confidential and is only used for the purposes of this competition. Hobart City Council will not sell, trade or make available your personal information to others.
30. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.
31. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner.
32. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter including without limitation technical malfunctions or failures.
33. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
34. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this promotion but no further use of this information will be made. To facilitate your participation, the Promoter may disclose your personal information to other companies associated with this promotion. If you do not provide your personal information, the Promoter will not be able to enter you into this promotion.
35. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, due to any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
36. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it's determination, including but not limited to vandalism, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.
