Flying Brick Cider on Victoria's Bellarine Peninsula has become one of Australia's fastest growing boutique ciders (for good reason we think!). The cider is made on site at Leura Park Estate but with more people wanting taste it, the time had come to create a home all its own.
To celebrate the opening of the Flying Brick Cider House, you could win one of four mixed cases of cider or one of two A$100 Cider House vouchers!
Opening on the 5th December, the form of this retro-inspired landmark venue comes from its namesake, the Flying Brick, or more correctly, the local Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos. Under its wings you'll find an innovative space, a tasting paddle of ciders, amazing food without the fancy, the best Bellarine wines around, a solid selection of beer, Friday night live music which traces the roots of rock, soul, rhythm and blues sounds fabulous, funky, fun.
A talented team has gathered to serve up a contemporary and distinctive menu with local produce and community partnerships key features and completing the beverage list of ciders and local beers is a wine selection of over 20 wines all produced on the Bellarine and free trade coffee. Friends, you will not go hungry nor thirsty!
And if you're a visitor to the area, the Cider House also includes an accredited Visitor Information Centre so you can carry on to discover all the other great delights of the Bellarine.
Now, about those Flying Brick ciders...
Apart from passing the VisitVineyards taste test with Flying colours (pun intended of course!), the ciders are made from 100% fresh Victorian fruit no added sugars, colours, flavourings, or concentrates and you can certainly tell they have their own delicious style, far from the mainstream.
Initially crafted on site at Leura Park Estate under the masterful eye of winemaker Nyall Condon and launched into the local market, the cider's reputation and distribution steadiliy. increaed. Today Flying Brick is available across Victoria and in Queensland, South Australia (and Hobart).
The three current cider offerings of Original, Pear and Draught will be joined by boutique seasonal batches from fresh, seasonal fruit. First cab off the rank is a pure Pink Lady batch which displays delicious pink grapefruit palate nuances alongside a fresh, crisp apple backbone.
Another welcome addition is the 1.89 litre Growler bottle simply buy the Growler, have it filled with your favourite cider and take it home to enjoy. Next visit have it filled with your choice of any cider on tap, including their latest seasonal cider, for a discounted price. Great for sharing around too!
These ciders have won awards at the Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards and the Royal Adelaide Awards but we think you should really try them for yourself. Sorry but the cider prizes can only be delivered around Australia. Vouchers can only be used at the Cider House and cannot be exchanged for cash.
