The exciting new Australian musical, NED will play its world premiere at Bendigo’s new Ulumbarra Theatre for a strictly limited season from 21-30 May.
NED’s Premiere Season will coincide with the exhibition, Imagining Ned, the story of Ned Kelly at the Bendigo Art Gallery.
NED tells the story of an ordinary boy, born to an Irish immigrant family living in poverty in country Victoria. Ned’s life takes a catastrophic turn when his mother Ellen is accused of attempted murder of Fitzpatrick, a local police officer. Ned takes to the bush with his brother Dan, and friends Steve and Joe, with plans to avenge this injustice. The boys are pursued by police and when they finally come on each other, three policemen are killed at Stringybark Creek. And from there his legend begins to grow.
RACV members can win a prize pack that includes two tickets to NED on Saturday, 23 May, two tickets to Imaging Ned at the Bendigo Art Gallery and two tickets to pre-show talk on Kelly Women ($155). The couple will have accommodation at The Schaller Studio Bendigo (one night) plus pantry Voucher ($175) and enjoy an exclusively hosted dinner for two at Rocks on Rosalind ($170).
