The 1950s was an important decade in the history of The Road Ahead. The end of the war signalled the beginning of a new era for the magazine, which evolved to accommodate more lifestyle content, including a regular column from ‘Winifred Scott’, talking about the latest in fashion, hairstyles and etiquette. Winifred became a much-loved fixture in The Road Ahead during those years and effectively gave women a voice in the then-male dominated world of motoring.

Entries and information on prizes and how to enter form part of these terms and conditions (“Terms”). Entries not completed in accordance with these Terms are ineligible. Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
The competition is open to residents of Queensland over the age of 18 years of age only, who are current RACQ members when the competition is drawn.
Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and related entities of the Promoter are ineligible to enter.
The competition commences at 9am on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 and closes at 5pm on Friday, May 29, 2015. For the first stage elimination round of the draw, 15 entries will be selected and divided proportionately between the methods of entry.
The first elimination round of the competition will be drawn at 11am on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at RACQ The Road Ahead, 300 St Paul’s Terrace, FORTITUDE VALLEY and Oxygen 8 Communications, Suite 156, Life Style Working, 117 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale, NSW 2100. The final draw of the competition will be drawn at RACQ The Road Ahead, 300 St Paul’s Terrace, FORTITUDE VALLEY on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 45am.
There will be four (4) prize winners in this competition that will be chosen at random from all eligible entries received. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Entrants are entitled to only one (1) entry to the competition and only one (1) prize will be awarded to each prize winner.
The competition will be promoted via The Road Ahead enewsletter to be sent mid-April to coincide with the release of the April/May 2015 edition of the magazine.
To enter the competition, entrants are required to locate the image of Winifred Scott in the April/May 2015 edition of The Road Ahead. Entrants and to find the page number in the magazine on which Winifred’s picture appears, and then fill in the entry form at com.au/competitions/Winifred for their chance to win.
The prize winners will each receive a 75th Anniversary Gift Pack each, consisting of the following items:
1 x Car Sun Shade valued at $26.70 plus GST.
1 x Madison Pen and USB Gift Set valued at $21.40 plus GST
1 x Single USB Car Charger valued at $11.20 plus GST
1 x Stainless Steel Car Mug valued at $8.20 plus GST
1 x Non-Woven Shopping Bag valued at $4.80 plus GST.
Each individual 75th Anniversary Gift Pack prize is valued at $72.30 plus GST.
Total prize value of the four 75th Anniversary Gift Pack prizes is $289.20 plus GST.
The prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
Insurance, spending money and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winners.
The prizes and prize components are subject to availability at the time of booking.
The winners will be notified on the phone number, email or postal address they use to enter the competition. Details of the prize will be posted or couriered to the winners as appropriate within one month of the competition being drawn to the address provided by the winners when they are notified that they have won a prize in this competition.
If a competition winner is unable to be contacted within two (2) weeks of the draw a redraw will occur. In the event that a redraw is required it will be held at 10am on June 17, 2015 at RACQ The Road Ahead, 300 St Paul’s Terrace, FORTITUDE VALLEY and the redraw winner will be notified by mail or by telephone or email using the address, telephone number or email address provided by the redraw winner when they entered the competition.
All entries become the property of the Promoter. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
The information that entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting the competition, and to periodically keep entrants informed about the goods and services provided by the Promoter, related entities and its service providers. By entering this competition entrants consent to the use of their contact details for the purposes described in this clause. The Promoter may use or disclose entrant’s personal information to related entities or other appropriate third parties in accordance with its privacy policy available on its Internet site at racq.com.au/privacy.
If for any reason this competition is not capable of being conducted by the Promoter as intended, whether because of computer virus, mobile phone failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter which in the Promoter’s opinion affects the administration of the competition, security, fairness or integrity, the Promoter may in its sole discretion, cancel, modify or suspend the competition, subject to the approval of the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation in Queensland as may be required.
The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage or for any personal injury sustained as a result of taking the prizes or entering into this competition. The Promoter makes no presentations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability or any goods or services offered as the prizes . To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered to person or property by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter or its employees or agents, in connection with the arrangement for the supply, or the supply, of goods and services by any person to the prize winner sand, where applicable, to any persons accompanying the prize winner
