Australia's own Xavier Rudd will soon embark on an extensive tour of his home country with a full band – the United Nations – in tow.
Rudd is currently touring the United States and will head to Europe before returning Down Under in July to play at the Splendour in the Grass festival in Byron Bay.
From there, he'll make his way around the country, playing a total of five gigs in Western Australia. Rudd's highly-acclaimed tunes will hit Kalgoorlie in September, followed by shows in Esperance, Albany, Margaret River and Perth.
The tour is the largest regional tour Rudd has undertaken since his 2012 album Spirit Bird.
"We will be touring regional places in Australia; some we've never been to, some we haven't been for a long time, in order to deliver this message and celebrate the energy of one people with our fellow Australians," Rudd said.
Crowds will enjoy music from the band's debut album Nanna – a "full blown dub record, backed by an eight-piece international all-star band".
"In a time when Australia is digging deep, marching together and standing strong for our threatened communities in the Northwest and simply the long awaited need for positive change for reconciliation in our country, I feel the spirit of this band is very important," Rudd said.
"This album, this tour, this family, The United Nations is an example energetically and spiritually of where we need to be as a nation."
