Explorer of the Seas has just completed a six-week, multimillion dollar refurbishment ahead of her first season in Australia at the end of the year. Slightly larger than sister ship Voyager of the Seas, Explorer will be the largest ship homeported in Australia.
So what’s new? Along with a complete refresh of all staterooms and public areas, Explorer now some of the innovative features found on Quantum and Oasis class ships across the line.
The biggest addition is the FlowRider surf simulator where passengers can learn to surf or boogie board on a cushioned platform. Interior staterooms have been fitted with virtual balconies, huge flat-screen TV screens that show real time footage of the sea, and new Panoramic staterooms with wraparound floor to ceiling windows have been added.
There are three new specialty restaurants onboard – Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Table and Izumi – as well as a new sports bar. Tech upgrades include ship-wide wi-fi, digital wayfinders to help passengers navigate the ship and a “print on demand” photo gallery.

•There is one prize, which will be awarded to the most creative entry. The Promoter will appoint a panel of judges to evaluate eligible entrants’ entries. •Entrants can only enter the competition once. Prize-winner will be notified by RCL Cruises Ltd by 5.00pm on 16th September 2015. The winner will be contacted by either email or phone. The prize:
•One (1) x 10 night South Pacific cruise for two people in an Oceanview cabin on Explorer of the Seas departing Sydney on 14 February 2016 valued at RRP AU$2,049pp (based on the brochure price on the lowest Balcony category) with a total value of RRP AU$4,098. The Prize value details are correct at the time of commencement of the Promotional Period.
•The Prize cannot be refunded for cash or transferred. The Prize does not include any other travel or on board costs/expenditure. Including but not limited to beverages, spa, shopping, Casino, travel insurance, shore excursions, speciality dining restaurants or anything else purchased on board including but not limited to passports, visas, vaccinations and other spending money. These costs must be covered by the Winner.
•The Prize winners and their travel companion must travel together. Meals and transfer fees, tips, travel to and from departure point and any other personal expenses and travel insurances must be paid for by the winner and their companion.
•If for any reason the winner is unable for whatever reason to accept the Prize as stated for the dates indicated, the winner will forfeit the Prize and no compensation will be given in lieu.
•It is the winner and their travel companion’s personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid travel and health documentation.
