To celebrate the David Bowie Is exhibition coming to Melbourne, we have two tickets to give away to the exhibition and to a two-day symposium that explores the stardom and celebrity of the iconic British artist.
Presented by the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), the event explores the influences of and on David Bowie in rock, pop, film, art, fashion and performance.
Running for two full days on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July, the symposium brings together a range of international and local experts in the fields of popular culture, celebrity and media studies, including:
•Dr Will Brooker, Professor of Film and Cultural Studies at Kingston University
•Robert Forster, the Australian singer-songwriter best known for his work as a co-founder and songwriter of The Go-Betweens
•Angela Ndalianis, Head of Screen and Cultural Studies at the University of Melbourne
•Sean Redmond and Toija Cinque, of Deakin University, and
•Dr Kathryn Johnson, assistant curator of David Bowie is and Director’s Researcher, Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

•Posting your answer on Twitter using the hashtag #BritishCouncilBowie (images are allowed so be as creative as you wish!) Entries must be submitted on Facebook or Twitter before 5pm (AEST) Thursday 9 July 2015.
The competition is open to those aged 18 and over. Full terms and conditions can be found below. Only the competition winner will be notified.
Competition terms and conditions
1.There will be one prize winner who will receive 2 x premium tickets to the David Bowie Is exhibition and 2 x tickets to The Stardom and Celebrity of David Bowie two-day symposium on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July.
2.Tickets for the two-day symposium include all sessions, lunch each day, and drinks on each evening at David Bowie Late Nights program.
3.The prize excludes: travel, accommodation, meals, travel insurance, spending and other ancillary and incidental costs.
4.The prize winner will be selected by the British Council and the winner will be notified via email or phone on Friday 10 July, 2015. If the winner cannot be contacted by the end of Tuesday, the prize will be offered to the second best entry.
5.The full names of the winner and their guest need to be provided to the British Council no later than Monday 13 July, 2015.
6.Completion entrants and their guest must be 18 years of age or over.
7.The combined value of the prize is AU$300.
8.The prize is not redeemable for cash and not transferable.
9.The Prize winner will accept the Prize at his/her sole risk. With the exception of liability which cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter and the Prize provider shall not be liable for any loss, damage or costs of any kind suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury, sickness or suffered or sustained by the Prize winner or their guest as a result of taking the Prize. As a condition of accepting the Prize, the Prize winner and their guest agree to release the Promoter and the prize provider from all liabilities, loss or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with the acceptance and participation in the Prize.
