In 2014 Australian-born, internationally renowned conductor Simone Young and the ANAM Orchestra electrified Melbourne audiences with their dramatic performance of Brahms’ 4th Symphony. This September, the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) welcomes back Simone Young (Artistic Director of the Hamburg State Opera) to lead the ANAM Orchestra in Brahms’ radiant 2nd Symphony, as she brings her experience and insight to this great piece of Romantic repertoire. One of Australia’s most highly awarded sopranos, Emma Matthews also joins Simone and ANAM, singing a selection of exquisite songs by Henri Duparc. The combination of Simone's wisdom with ANAM’s youthful exuberance promises to be irresistible - a concert not to be missed!
