Fever of Animals (book giveaway)

It’s easy to see why Miles Allinson’s debut novel Fever of Animals won the 2014 Victorian Premier’s Unpublished Manuscript Award: it’s one of the most original pieces of writing this country has produced in years.

Blurring the boundaries between fiction and non-fiction, Fever of Animals begins as an account of the protagonist's recent trip to Europe, where he investigated the mysterious disappearance of the surrealist painter Emil Bafdescu, who vanished into a forest in 1967. From there the plot twists and turns into a series of stories about life, art, modern-day Australia and post-communist Europe.

It’s a beautifully written meditation on love, history, memory and grief, and thanks to Scribe we have 10 copies to give away. To enter, email your name and address here.
