Written and directed by Gren Wells, The Road Within stars internationally renowned talents, Robert Sheehan, Zoe Kravitz and Dev Patel, with Robert Patrick and Kyra Sedgwick.
After his mother dies, Tourette's sufferer Vincent (Sheehan) is admitted into a care home for the mentally unstable by his estranged father (Patrick). There he meets fellow social outcasts Alex (Patel), who has OCD, and Marie (Kravitz), suffering anorexia, and together they manage a daring escape and hit the open road.
The road isn't an easy one, though, when Vincent's father sets out with the care home's director (Sedgwick) to retrieve the trio, and they brave one crazy adventure after another.
The film has picked up numerous awards including winning Best Film in the Alice Nella Citta section at the 2014 Rome Film Festival, and winning the Audience Award for Best Film at the 2014 Champs-Élysées Film Festival in Paris. In addition, Dev Patel was named Best Actor, and Zoe Kravitz was named Best Actress at the 2014 Napa Valley Film Festival.
