Competition Terms and Conditions
Instructions on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Below, CGU refers to CGU Insurance Limited ABN 27 004 478 371 AFSL 238291. NSW permit number: LTPS/16/00514.
Section 1: General Information
1. Promoters

2. Competition Period
The Competition will commence at 9:00am on Tuesday, 1 March 2016 and will close at 4:30pm on Saturday, 30 April 2016 (Competition Period).
3. Eligibility
The Competition comprises fifty-one separate draws within the Competition Period for fifty-one separate Prizes. Any subsequent entries received will be deemed invalid.
To go in a draw to win one (1) $20,000 Travel Package (Major Draw):
Purchase a new general insurance product issued by CGU from any of the Promoters listed above between 9:00am on Tuesday, 1 March 2016 and 4:30pm on Saturday, 30 April 2016 (this includes Home Insurance, Motor Insurance, Landlords Insurance, Travel Insurance, Boat Insurance & Caravan Insurance only, and does not include Consumer Credit Insurance, Life Insurance or Loan Protection Insurance or commercial insurance products);
Provide your first name, last name, telephone, postcode and current and valid email address (and any other information requested by the Promoter);
still have a valid/active policy at the time of the draw; and
agree to the Terms and Conditions of this competition.
To go in the draw to win one of five (5) $5,000 Travel Packages (Minor Draws):
Purchase a new general insurance product issued by CGU from one of the Promoters listed above between 9:00am on Tuesday, 1 March 2016 and 4:30pm on Saturday, 30 April 2016 (this includes Home Insurance , Motor Insurance, Landlords Insurance, Travel Insurance, Boat Insurance & Caravan Insurance only, and does not include Consumer Credit Insurance, Life Insurance, Loan Protection Insurance or commercial insurance products);
Provide your first name, last name, telephone, postcode and current and valid email address (and any other information requested by the Promoter);
still have a valid/active policy at the time of the draw; and
agree to the Terms and Conditions of this competition.
To go in a draw to win one of forty-five (45) $100 Visa Debit Cards (Weekly Draw):
Request a quote on a new general insurance product issued by CGU from any of the Promoters listed above between 9:00am on Tuesday, 1 March 2016 and 4:30pm on Saturday, 30 April 2016 (this includes Home Insurance, Motor Insurance, Landlords Insurance, Travel Insurance, Boat Insurance & Caravan Insurance only, and does not include Consumer Credit Insurance, Life Insurance or Loan Protection Insurance or commercial insurance products);
Provide your first name, last name, telephone, postcode and current and valid email address (and any other information requested by the Promoter); and
agree to the Terms and Conditions of this competition.
Persons under the age of 18 are not eligible to enter.
Employees of the Promoter or the Promoter’s related entities, CGU authorised representatives and agencies associated with this Competition and their immediate families are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
4. Entry conditions
Entrants may, during the Competition Period enter the competition by purchasing (for the Major Draw and Minor Draw) or requesting a quote for (for the Weekly Draw) a new general insurance product issued by CGU through one of the above Promoters. This includes Home Insurance, Motor Insurance, Landlords Insurance, Travel Insurance, and Boat Insurance & Caravan Insurance only, and does not include Consumer Credit Insurance, Life Insurance, Loan Protection Insurance or commercial insurance products. Participation in this promotion, including the taking of any Prize, is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Each Promoter will hold their own Minor Draw from the entries they receive. Entries received for the Minor Draw by a particular Promoter will not be included in another Promoter’s Minor Draw. Each customer will receive one entry into the Minor Draw of the Promoter from which they purchased their insurance policy.
There will be one (1) Major Draw for all Promoters and each customer shall receive one entry into the Major Draw per insurance policy purchased.
There will be nine (9) Weekly Draws by each Promoter (45 Weekly Draws in total). For each insurance quote requested by a customer, the customer shall receive one entry into one (1) Weekly Draw for the Promoter from which they requested the quote.
5. Draw details
For the Major Draw
There will be one (1) Major Draw conducted on behalf of all five (5) Promoters from the entries they jointly receive.
The Major Draw will be randomly drawn on Wednesday, 4 May 2016, at CGU Insurance, Level 10, 189 Grey Street, South Brisbane, Qld, 4101.
The winner of the Major Draw will be notified by telephone before 5pm on Thursday, 5 May 2016.
For the Minor Draw
There will be one (1) Minor Draw conducted for entries received by each of the five (5) Promoters (5 Minor Draws in total).
The Minor Draw will be randomly drawn on Wednesday, 4 May 2016 at CGU Insurance, Level 10, 189 Grey Street, South Brisbane, Qld, 4101.
The winner of the Minor Draw will be notified by telephone before 5pm on Thursday, 5 May 2016.
For the Weekly Draw
There will be nine (9) Weekly Draw conducted by each of the five (5) Promoters in each week of the Competition Period (45 Weekly Draws in total).
The first valid entry randomly drawn in each of the Weekly Draws will win a prize, which is one (1) Visa Gift Card valued at $100 AUD. The prize is subject to any conditions imposed by the supplier. Non-winning entries in each Weekly Draw will not be entered into any subsequent Weekly Draw(s) of each Promoter.
Weekly Draws will take place at CGU Insurance, Level 10, 189 Grey Street, South Brisbane, Qld, 4101. All Weekly Draws for each week of the Competition Period will take place the following Tuesday at 10am.
The winners of the Weekly Draws will be notified by telephone before Close of Business on the Wednesday after the draw.
6. Collection details The winners will be sent instructions via email on how to collect their prize.
7. Draws and Prizes
The Competition comprises fifty-one (51) separate draws for fifty-one (51) separate Prizes.
8. Prize Non-refundable The prizes are non-refundable, non transferable and cannot be taken in any other form.
9. Force Majeure The Promoters will not be responsible or liable for any loss, cost or damage arising out of any act, omission, failure or delay by the Promoters which is due to an act of god, riots, acts of terrorism, storms, fire, any labour or industrial dispute, any strike, and other acts which are not reasonably within the control of the Promoters.
10. Rights to entries All entries become the property of the Promoters through whom the entry was made. Any entries not completed in accordance with the rules and conditions or received after the closing time and date of the competition will not be considered.
11. Lost or Delayed Communications The Promoters will not be responsible for any delayed, lost or misdirected mail or any other communication. Subject to applicable laws, if either:
an entrant can not be contacted or located to be informed that they are the winner before 31st May 2016;
the Prize is forfeited for any reason or deemed forfeited by the Promoters; or
any Prize winner is deemed by the Promoters to be ineligible;
a re-draw may be conducted. Any such redraw will be made from the pool of entries comprising all valid entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions for the relevant draw.
12. Release To the extent permissible by law, you release the Promoters, their agencies and employees from any causes of action, loss, liability, damage, expense (including any claim for legal expenses), cost or charge sustained or in any way incurred by you (including any indirect or consequential loss) in connection with your participation in the Promotion.
13. Privacy Notice
Personal information will be collected by the Promoters in order to facilitate the provision of quotes in respect of or the issue of a qualifying insurance policy issued by CGU. As part of this process personal information will be provided to CGU Insurance Limited ABN 27 004 478 371. During the course of the Competition, the Promoters may also collect your personal information, including your name and email address for the purposes of determining eligibility for entry into the prize draw and to contact the prize winner and provide details on how the prize may be collected.
All information will be treated in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, a copy of which can be obtained from:
the relevant Promoter’s website listed above; or
any branch of the Promoter.
The Promoters may contact the winner to obtain permission to use their name and image for any promotional activities following the promotion and/or to invite them to enter other promotions conducted by the Promoters. We will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your permission. In entering the Promotion you agree to the lawful collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy. You are able to access the information we hold about you.
14. Program Interruption The Promoters, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to cancel, suspend, terminate or modify the Promotion if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond the Promoters’ reasonable control adversely affect the Promoters’ ability to conduct the Promotion as described in these Terms and Conditions.
