By entering the Ultimate Long Weekend competition you accept the terms and conditions set out below (Terms).
The promoter of this competition is Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WREDA) Level 28, Plimmer Tower, 2-6 Gilmer Terrace, PO Box 10 017, Wellington, New Zealand.
Employees of WREDA, Nelson-Tasman Tourism, Wellington Airport, Nelson Airport and Jetstar, and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the competition.
This competition is open to Australian residents only.
You must be 18 years of age or older to enter the competition. If requested by WREDA, you must provide proof of your age and/or place of residence.
To enter the competition you must complete the form on WellingtonNZ.com/melly and tell us in 25 words or less why you think Wellington and Nelson are the perfect destinations for a long weekend. The entries will be judged and the winner selected based on what the Promoter deems the most worthy response to the question.
Only correctly completed entries will be accepted. WREDA accepts no responsibility for any entries which are lost, delayed or not received for any reason, or for any subsequent error, technical malfunction, loss, omission, communications delay or failure.
All decisions of WREDA in relation to the competition shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Entries open on 15 April 2016
and close 11.59pm Sunday 8 May 2016 (New Zealand time). Entries received after this time will not be judged.
The winner of the competition will be judged from all valid entries on Monday 9 May 2016 at the offices of WREDA, Level 28, Plimmer Tower, 2-6 Gilmer Terrace, PO Box 10 017, Wellington, New Zealand, and will be notified by email on 9 May 2016.
If the winner does not reply to their winner’s notification email by 11am on 12 May 2016 (New Zealand time), a second prize winner will be chosen. In this event, if the new winner does not respond to their winner’s notification email within a reasonable time (determined by WREDA), a third prize winner will be selected, and so on until the winner is finalised.
One prize package will be offered to the winner of the competition. The winner’s prize package is valued at NZD$1700 and includes the following for the prize winner and their chosen travel companion: Two (2) economy class return flights from Melbourne to Wellington with Jetstar; two (2) nights accommodation at Museum Art Hotel Wellington; Te Papa Highlights Tour for two (2) people; two (2) tickets to Zealandia; two (2) tickets for the Wellington Cable Car; 1 x $100 voucher for The Library Bar; 2 x $25 lunch vouchers for Chow; 1 x $100 voucher for Dragonfly; 1 x$50 voucher for Grill Meats Beer; return flights for two people from Wellington to Nelson with Jetstar; one night’s accommodation for two people at Grand Mercure Nelson Monaco; 1 x one-day pass for two people with Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle into Abel Tasman National Park; 1 x voucher for paddle board hire and lesson for two people with Moana NZ SUP. Note: all values in NZD. Except as set out in the prize above, all other expenses, such as transfers to Australian departure airports, spending money, travel insurance, meals and any other ancillary costs of taking up the prize package will be at the winners’ own expense.
The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
All relevant prize package components must be booked and confirmed by the prize winner before 23 May 2016. Details on how to book will be provided in the winner notification email.
All travel in the travel prize package must be completed by the prize winner and their travel companion before 30 June 2016 and must be undertaken by the prize winner and the winner’s companion together at the same time, on the same itinerary. If for any reason whatsoever the prize winner and their companion cannot redeem the prize within this specified period, they shall not be entitled to compensation and the prize package shall become void.
Where relevant, the prize winner shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary visas and any other immigration approvals required by Immigration New Zealand or otherwise to be able to travel to New Zealand. WREDA accepts no responsibility or liability incurred due to the failure to obtain any such approvals.
WREDA and their associated agents act only as agents or resellers for other parties (suppliers) who provide the prize package. Individual suppliers’ standard policies and terms and conditions apply to the prize. The tickets provided are subject to the individual supplier’s terms and conditions.
WREDA accepts no responsibility for an individual suppliers’ failure to supply the prize for any reason, or in the form expected, and are not obliged to provide an alternative prize or take legal action to require the supplier to carry out their obligations.
The prize is subject to change by WREDA and the supplier without notice.
The prize is non-refundable for cash and is not transferable to any persons, unless agreed in writing by WREDA.
Any additional person, upgrade, extension or variance from the prize package (where permitted by the relevant supplier) will be at the prize winner’s own expense.
WREDA reserve the right in its sole discretion to disqualify an entrant who it considers to be ineligible or who tampers with the competition entry or draw process, or who fails to comply with these Terms.
Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered or inflicted by you (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) in connection with this competition. Due diligence is carried out to ensure the providers used in our competitions have health and safety measures in place at the time of promotion. We recommend contacting the product provider(s) to confirm any details and to ensure their latest initiatives comply with all Health & Safety and regulatory requirements ahead of taking up your prize.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed according to the laws of New Zealand. You agree that the Courts of New Zealand shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute which may arise in connection with these Terms, unless otherwise agreed by WREDA.

WREDA may collect personal information provided with your entry, which will be used to notify prize winners, verify entries, and generally administer this competition. WREDA respects privacy rights under the Privacy Act 1993 and will comply with the privacy principles in relation to the collection of any personal information from individuals entering this competition.
