When will the competition start and end?
The competition starts at 12:01am (AEST) on 12/05/16 and ends at 11:59pm (AEST) on 08/06/16 (the Competition Period).
Who can enter?
Only Australian residents aged 18 or over who are/become a Velocity Frequent Flyer member (and who hold a permanent membership card or a registered temporary card) can enter.
Who can't enter?
Directors, officers, management and employees of:
(a) the Promoter; or
(b) the agencies or companies or participating stores associated with this competition,
and their immediate families, can't enter.
Where will the competition run?
The competition will run in selected BP petrol service stations participating in the Velocity Frequent Flyer program (Stores). See
www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/bp for a list of Stores.
Do I need to buy anything to enter?
Yes. During the Competition Period, you need to make a shop or fuel purchase from a Store that qualifies to earn Velocity points (Qualifying Purchase).
Purchases paid for using fuel cards (including BP Plus Cards, Motor Pass Cards, Motor Charge Cards, Fleet Cards and Distributor/Reseller Fuel Cards) or any other payment methods which are not compatible with the Velocity Frequent Flyer program will not be deemed a Qualifying Purchase.

How many winners will there be and how will they be chosen?
There will be 672 winners determined in respect of this competition.
During the Competition Period, there will be a draw conducted in respect of each hour of each day of the Competition Period. This is a total of 672 draws. The draws will take place at 12pm (AEST) daily between 13/05/16 and 09/06/16 (each a Draw Day). All draws will be conducted at Prime Focus, Level 1, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra VIC 3141.
At 12pm (AEST) on a Draw Day, a draw will be conducted in respect of entries received during each hour of the day immediately prior (e.g. at 12pm (AEST) on 13/05/16, 24 draws will be conducted; 1 in respect of each hour of 12/05/16). Any draws scheduled for weekends or Victorian public holidays will be conducted on the next business day.
The first valid entry drawn randomly in each draw from the entries received during the relevant 1 hour period will win a prize. Entries received in respect of each draw will not roll over to subsequent draws.
The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries in each draw and record them in order, in case the winning entry/entrant is deemed invalid.
If, in respect of a draw, no entries have been received, the prize will carry over to the final prize draw to take place at 12pm (AEST) on the final Draw Day. All valid entries received during the entire Competition Period (which have not already won a prize) will be entered into the final prize draw.
What can I win?
There are in total up to 672 prizes available.
Each prize is 50,000 Velocity Frequent Flyer Points, valued at $2,193.
The prize value is based on a sample of the Velocity Frequent Flyer Points options that could be obtained by redeeming the prize through the Velocity Frequent Flyer program (as more fully defined in the terms and conditions of the Velocity Frequent Flyer program). The estimated prize value is provided for the purposes of this competition only – the value of the Velocity Frequent Flyer Points will vary depending on how they are redeemed by the winner through the Velocity Frequent Flyer program.
After validating a winner's entry, their prize will be automatically loaded onto their Velocity Frequent Flyer account on or by 23/06/16.
Total prize pool
The total prize pool is valued at $1,473,696.
How many times can I enter?
You can enter multiple times, provided each entry is based on a separate Qualifying Purchase.
Each entry must be submitted separately in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
How and when will the winners be informed?
If you are a winner, you will be informed in writing via email within two days of the draw, and your name and state/territory of residence will be published in The Australian on 16/06/16.
If I win, when must I claim my prize?
You must claim your prize by 5pm (AEST) on 09/09/16.
What if I don't claim my prize on time?
If a prize has not been accepted or claimed by 5pm (AEST) on 09/09/16 or if, after making all reasonable attempts, the Promoter can't contact a drawn winner (or a drawn winner does not contact the Promoter) by the time specified above in order to award a prize, the relevant entry will be discarded and the Promoter will re-award the relevant prize by carrying out an unclaimed prize draw at 12pm (AEST) on 12/09/16 (Unclaimed Prize Draw) at the same location as the original draw to distribute the relevant prize. All entries received during the Competition Period and that have not already won a prize will be combined for the purposes of this draw.
If you are a winner in the Unclaimed Prize Draw you will be informed in writing by email within two days of the Unclaimed Prize Draw, and your name and state/territory of residence will be published in The Australian on 15/09/16.
For any winners in this draw, after validating their entry, their prize will be automatically loaded onto their Velocity Frequent Flyer account on or by 22/09/16.

11 These Terms and Conditions incorporate and must be read together with the details outlined in the table above. Information about prizes and how to enter forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering, you accept these Terms and Conditions. Participation in the Velocity Frequent Flyer program (and, consequently, participation in this competition) is subject to the terms and conditions which apply to the Velocity Frequent Flyer program.
Entry
12 Your entry must be received during the Competition Period. Your entry is deemed to be received only when received by the Promoter’s database. If you return a Qualifying Purchase your entry will be deemed invalid (unless product is defective). The Promoter is not liable for any problems with communications networks.
General
13 Winners whose Velocity Frequent Flyer account is suspended, cancelled or otherwise terminated at any time during the Competition Period or at the time of determining winners will not be eligible to win a prize.
14 If you are a winner, you must take part in all publicity, photography and other promotional activity as the Promoter requires, without any compensation. You consent to the Promoter using your name, image and any other details provided by you, in any promotional or advertising activity.
15 If you or your entry are deemed by the Promoter to breach these Terms and Conditions, your entry (or at the Promoter's discretion, all of your entries) may be discarded. The Promoter may, at any time, require you to produce documentation to establish to the Promoter's satisfaction the validity of your entries (including documentation establishing your identity, age, place of residence and place of employment). Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not waive those rights.
16 You must not:
(a)tamper with the entry process;
(a) engage in any conduct that may jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition;
(b) act in a disruptive, annoying, threatening, abusive or harassing manner;
(c) do anything that may diminish the good name or reputation of the Promoter or any of its related entities or of the agencies or companies associated with this competition;
(d) breach any law; or
(e) behave in a way that is otherwise inappropriate.
17 The Promoter is not liable for entries, prize claims or correspondence that are misplaced, misdirected, delayed, lost, incomplete, illegible or incorrectly submitted.
18 The Promoter’s decision in connection with all aspects of this competition is final.
19 Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged nor redeemed for cash. The prize values are correct as at the date of preparing these Terms and Conditions and include any applicable GST. The Promoter is not responsible for any change in prize value. You agree that if a prize (or element of a prize) is unavailable for any reason the Promoter may provide another item of equal or higher value, subject to any necessary approval by the state/territory gaming authorities.
110 By entering, you request that your full address not be published.
111 If this competition cannot run as planned for any reason beyond the Promoter's control, for example due to software, hardware or communications issues, unauthorised intervention, tampering, fraud or technical failure, the Promoter may end, change, suspend or cancel the competition or disqualify affected entries/entrants, subject to any necessary approval by the state/territory gaming authorities.
112 The Promoter is not responsible for any tax implications arising from you winning a prize. You should seek independent financial advice. If for GST purposes this competition results in any supply being made for non-monetary consideration, you must follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that where the parties are at arm’s length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.
Liability
113 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions restricts, excludes or modifies any consumer rights under any statute including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
114 Subject to the previous paragraph, the Promoter and the agencies and companies associated with this competition are not liable (including in negligence) for any loss (including indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury, illness or death suffered in connection with this competition or any prize, except for any liability which under statute cannot be excluded (in which case that liability is limited to the greatest extent allowed by law).
115 Without limiting the previous paragraph, the Promoter and the agencies and companies associated with this competition are not liable for any loss of, damage to or delay in delivery of the prize.
116 The Promoter may communicate or advertise this competition using Facebook or Instagram. However, the competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Instagram. You provide your information to the Promoter and not to Facebook or Instagram. You completely release Facebook and Instagram from any and all liability.
Collection and use of your personal information
117 The Promoter collects personal information about you in order to conduct the competition. If the personal information requested is not provided, you may not be able to participate. The Promoter may also use your personal information to help improve its goods and services. The Promoter may share your personal information with the Promoter’s franchised dealers, related companies, agents, contractors or promotional partners. The Promoter and its Australian related companies and promotional partners may contact you with special offers and marketing via any medium including mail, telephone and commercial electronic messages (including email and SMS). By entering and providing personal information, you consent to the use of your personal information in this manner. Your personal information may be disclosed to overseas locations such as New Zealand, the USA, the UK, Malaysia, the Philippines and India. The Promoter’s Privacy Policy (available at
www.bp.com.au) states:
(a) how you can seek access to the personal information the Promoter holds and seek the correction of such information; and
(b) how you can complain about a breach of privacy and how the Promoter will deal with such a complaint.
