Terms and Conditions:
1.Instructions on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
2.Entry is open to residents of Australia, who can attend the event in Sydney on 28th September 2016. Entrants under the age of 18 years must have parent or legal guardian permission to enter. Employees of the Promoter, associated agencies and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.
3.If an entrant is under 18 years of age, they will be asked at time of winner notification to provide the contact details of a parent / legal guardian who (if the entrant is deemed a winner) will accompany them during the redemption of the prize. This person must accompany the under 18 winner (as their companion) to the event, using one of the two (2) allocated prize winning tickets awarded in the prize.
4.Only one entry per person will be permitted.
5.The promotion commences on 8th August, 2016 and closes at 11:59 (AEST) on 21st September, 2016. The judging will be done by a panel of judges appointed by the Promoter. The judging will take place at Bauer Media 54 Park Street, Sydney NSW 2000 and will begin on 22nd September, 2016. The winners will be notified via email using the email address given in their entry.
6.To enter, individuals must go to dolly.com.au/win follow the prompts to the competition page and fill in the entry form including their full name, mailing address, daytime telephone number, current email address and answer to the competition question in 25 words or less: “Describe what is your uniqueness or peculiarity?” and submit the entry as instructed.
7.This is a game of skill, chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on its literary and creative merit of the answer to the question provided and suitability to the promotion. The judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition will be final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into.
8.The Entrant warrants to the Promoter that the entry submitted is an original artistic work of the Entrant that does not infringe the rights of any third parties. If the entry or any part of the information provided to the Entrant in relation to the entry was provided by a third party, the Entrant warrants that they have obtained the relevant copyright permission to submit the entry for the purposes of this promotion. The entrant agrees to indemnify the promoter against all claims and costs by third parties arising from a breach of the warranty set out in this condition.
9.The Promoter is entitled to use any of the entries submitted in any manner and for any purpose at its absolute discretion, including using the entries for future promoter’s or their agents book publications, promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment or other compensation to the entrant. The promoter is entitled to amend, edit, select, crop, retouch, add to or delete from any part of the submitted entry.
10.Entries must not be offensive, defamatory or racist. Any entry which the judges deem inappropriate will be invalid. The entrant agrees to indemnify the Promoter.
11.The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions will be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
12.The best (1) valid entry as determined by the judges will be deemed the major prize winner and will win the following prize:
•One (1) x Double Pass to a special VIP screening of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children in Hoyts LUX at Entertainment Quarter Sydney with a High Tea valued at up to $200 (per double pass).
•Two (2) x Return economy airfares for two people from the winner’s nearest capital city to Sydney valued at $2,800 (including taxes, depending on point of departure)
•Two (2) x Return airport to hotel transfers in Sydney only valued at $200.00
•Two (2) x nights’ accommodation in a minimum of four (4) star hotel in Sydney in a standard twin share room valued at up to $600.00
•One (1) x Dolly Goody Bag valued at up to $25 per person.
The next best twenty eight (28) valid entries as determined by the judges will be deemed the runner’s up prize winners and will win the following prize:
•One (1) x Double Pass to a special VIP screening of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children in Hoyts LUX at Entertainment Quarter Sydney with a High Tea valued at up to $200 (per double pass)

The Total prize pool for the entire promotional period is valued at up to $10,850 (including taxes/GST). Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the prize are not included. These are the responsibility of the winner.
If the winner is lives’ within 250km of the Sydney metropolitan area, the airfares and airport transfers component of the prize will not be include. An alternative prize or cash will not be awarded in lieu of these components of the major prize.
13.The prize must be redeemed in full on 28th September 2016 at Hoyts LUX Entertainment Quarter only. The tickets (prize) will be emailed to all winners by no later than 26th September 2016, once all winners have been validated. In the event that the winner is unable to redeem the prize on this date, and the winner is unable to transfer the prize to a nominated person, then the prize will be forfeited by the winner and neither cash nor another prize will be awarded in lieu of the forfeited the prize. In the event that the entire prize is forfeited by the winner, the Promoter will award the prize to the next best valid entry.
14.The Promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any loss or damage suffered in the event that the special screening of Miss Peregrine Home for Peculiar Children is postponed, cancelled, rescheduled or relocated for any reason whatsoever.
15.Prize does not include travel to and from the cinema (venue), spending money, all meals and beverages (unless specified above), and ancillary costs associated with redeeming the prize. These are the responsibility of the winner.
16.All prizes must be taken as offered. The prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed as cash. The prize is not valid in conjunction with any other offer. The prize is valued in Australian dollars. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their prize. In the event that a portion of the prize is awarded to the winner in the form of a voucher / ticket / pass/ online, redemption of that portion of the prize will be subject to the terms and conditions stipulated on the voucher / ticket / pass/ online. The Promoter will not be liable for any voucher / ticket / pass that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.
17.During the entire duration of the prize, a nominated parent/guardian must accompany any person under 18 years of age.
18.If the winner is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or legal guardian on behalf of the winner. It is the responsibility of the winner’s parent/legal guardian to prove their parental status/ legal guardianship at the time of winner notification. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a person/s mistakenly represents themselves to be a winners parent and/or legal guardian, then that person will be liable for all costs associated with relocating and/or re-awarding the prize (including but not limited to and administrative fees incurred by the Promoter). Where relevant, the Promoter is only responsible for ensuring that the prize is awarded to a person who is either a parent or legal guardian of the winner. The Promoter is not responsible for determining any other delivery details or taking direction that relates to any ongoing family law negotiations and/or determinations. These are the responsibility of the winner and their respective parent/s and/or legal guardian/s.
19.Winners will not be compensated for unused portions of a prize.
20.The prize does not include any installation or set-up of any of the products.
21.Products included in prize package (including but not limited to titles, colour, design, sizing, model, finish, style etc) will be determined by the promoter in its complete discretion. All prizes must be taken as offered.
Major prize:
22.Redemption of prize is subject to booking and flight availability. Prize is a single event holiday and cannot be separated into different holiday vacations.
23.The winner (and their companion) are responsible for all other expenses including but not limited to surcharges, taxes (excluding airport and airline taxes), spending money, meals, insurance, drinks, transfers (unless specified), transport to and from departure point, laundry charges, activities (unless specified), incidentals, energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs.
24.A credit card imprint or cash deposit will be required from the winner at check-in of the hotel for all incidental charges. Once accommodation vouchers are issued they are non-changeable.
25.Travel restrictions may apply. Prize does not include travel insurance. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
26.Itinerary to be determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
27.The winner (and any companion) must travel on the same dates, depart from and return to the same point of departure and travel together. Frequent flyer points will not form part of the prize. Standard conditions for tickets and accommodation apply. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. It is each winner’s responsibility to ensure that they have all relevant documentation in order to travel. All elements of a prize must be taken together within the one trip.
General:
28.The VIP screening of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children event ticket prizes are subject to the event venue and ticket terms and conditions, including any applicable age restriction. The Promoter and event organisers hereby expressly reserve the right to eject any winner (and/or his/her companions) for any inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to intoxication, whilst participating in any element of the prize.
29.In acceptance of the prize, the Winner acknowledges that they may incur ongoing costs associated with the prize which are the entire responsibility of the winner.
30.Prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers.
31.In the event that for any reason whatsoever the Winner does not take the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize will be forfeited by the Winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize.
32.In the event that a prize, or part of a prize, is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize or part of the prize in its discretion with an alternative prize or part of the prize to the same and equal recommended retail value and/or specification.
33.The promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any late lost or misdirected mail (including but not limited to prizes).
34.The Promoter is not responsible nor liable for any prize damaged in transit in the delivery of their prize
35.Any cost associated with accessing the promotional website is the entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
36.In the event of unforeseen circumstances, war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster (including but not limited to natural disaster)the Promoter reserves the right to subject to reference to all relevant state and territory rules and regulations, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
37.If a medical circumstance in some way restricts your ability to enter the competition through the required mechanic, you are still eligible to enter however you must briefly state your circumstances upon entry.
38.If your entry is selected as a winning entry, validation of your circumstances/ the validity of your entry will be undertaken by the Promoter. Method of validation (without limitation) will be determined by the Promoter in its complete discretion. If the winning entry is deemed to be a winner, the winner will be notified as per the terms and conditions herein. In the event that the Promoter requests the entrant to sign any legal documents relating to the verification of their medical circumstance, the legal documents will take the form determined by the Promoter. It is a condition of accepting the prize the winner sign any such legal documentation.
39.Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.
40.Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) use of the prize.
41.If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
Privacy:
42.The Promoter collects personal information (“PI”) in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this PI. The Promoter will also use and handle PI as set out in its privacy policy, which can be accessed by visiting

In addition to any use that may be outlined in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, the Promoter may also, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the PI for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct PI to the Promoter and direct any complaints regarding treatment of their PI according to the Privacy Policy. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
