By entering The Block Domain competition (the “Competition”), you are agreeing to the following
terms and conditions:
1) Information on how to enter forms part of the Terms and Conditions. Entry into this Competition
is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. This Competition is being conducted in
conjunction with the Promoter’s concurrent broadcast of the renovation competition television
program ‘The Block’ in 2016 (“The Block”).
WHO CAN ENTER?
2) The Competition is open to all residents of Australia who are aged 18 years and older, except
employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, the Sponsor and all companies and
agencies associated with this Competition (“Entrants”).
HOW TO ENTER
1) The Competition commences on Monday 29th August 2016 at 09:30 AEST and concludes on
Monday 31st October 2016 at 9:29 AEDT. (the “Competition Period”).
2) To enter, Entrants must, during the Competition Period:
a) go online to
https://www.9now.com.au/the-block/season-12/extras/win/competitions/domain/(“Competition Website”);
b) follow the prompts on the Competition Website to submit a vote for the one (1) couple out of
five (5) couples on The Block (each, a “Couple”) whose room the Domain logo appears in
during the promotional period;
c) fully and correctly complete the Competition entry form with their details, including their full
name, phone number, postcode, state, current and valid email address and contact
telephone number;
d) agree to the Competition terms and conditions; and
e) submit their fully completed Competition entry form.
3) Multiple entries permitted, subject to the following: one (1) entry (and vote) per person per 24
hour period. Entrants can vote for multiple Couples provided each vote is submitted in a
separate entry in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
4) If there is a dispute as to the identity of an Entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole
discretion, to determine the identity of the Entrant.
5) All entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Promoter and NOT at the time
of transmission by the Entrant.
6) The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries at any time during or after the
Competition Period, and reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who tampers with the entry
process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of
those rights.
7) The Promoter and Sponsor take no responsibility should an Entrant not have internet access
permitting access to and use of the Competition Website. Any cost associated with accessing
the internet is the Entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the internet service provider used.
In the event that The Block is cancelled or varied, the Competition will be cancelled or varied
(subject to relevant regulatory approval).
MINOR PRIZES
9) Entries received during the relevant promotional period will be pooled into nine (9) separate
draws for each of the Room Reveals. The first valid entry drawn from all entries received in each
of the nine (9) draws will be deemed a minor prize winner.
10) The draws will take place at Nine Digital Pty Ltd, ABN 33 077 753 461, Level 6, Tower Building,
Australia Square, 264-278 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000 on the dates stipulated below.
Winners will be notified by phone and in writing and their names and localities will be published

11) Each minor prize comprises of the following:
a) 1 x $500 The Block Shop voucher. Valued at $500.00
Individual maximum minor prize valued up to $500.00
Total maximum minor prize pool valued up to $4,500.00
12) The Block Shop vouchers will be valid for a period of twelve months, from the date of issue.
13) Unless specified otherwise, each winner and their companion (if any) are responsible for all
other expenses not expressly stated as being included in the minor prize, including, without
limitation, transport to and from airport departure point (including but not limited to additional
domestic airfares if required to their nearest capital city), meals and beverages, any sightseeing,
tours or activities, any additional accommodation, transfers, personal spending money and all
other ancillary costs, as well as obtaining any of these. The minor prizes also exclude medical
expenses, items of a personal nature, laundry, telephone calls, additional nights, room or flight
upgrades, incidentals, energy surcharges, gratuities, service charges, in-room charges or other
ancillary costs associated with redeeming the minor prizes, other than those specified. These
costs and expenses are the responsibility of each winner and their companion (if any). Any
extension to the duration of the minor prize is at the sole expense of the winner and their
companion (if any) and is subject to availability at the time of booking. For the removal of doubt,
taxes for domestic travel are included in the domestic airfares provided by the Promoter as part
of the minor prizes.
MAJOR PRIZE
a) All entries received during the entire promotional period will go into the draw for the major
prize. The major prize winner will receive the prize package detailed below. The draw will
take place at Nine Digital Pty Ltd, ABN 33 077 753 461, Level 7, Tower Building, Australia
Square, 264-278 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000 on Wednesday, 2nd Nov at 12:00
AEDT. Winner will be notified by phone and mail and their name will be published on

th November 2016.
- $20,000 that will be awarded in the form of the winner’s choice of electronic funds transfer to
the winner’s nominated bank account.

Total maximum prize pool value (minor prizes + major prize) for this Competition is up to
$24,500.00.
14) In acceptance of the major prize, the major prize winner acknowledges that they may incur
ongoing costs associated with the major prize which are the entire responsibility of the major
prize winner.
GENERAL
15) The prize values are correct as at the commencement of the Competition Period. The Promoter
accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between the commencement of the
Competition Period and the ultimate date on which the prize is awarded.
16) All prizes must be taken as offered. A prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not
transferable (unless otherwise expressly permitted in these Terms and Conditions),
exchangeable and cannot be redeemed as cash. The prizes are not valid in conjunction with any
other offer.
17) It is a condition of entry of the Competition that an Entrant, in the event the Entrant is determined
a winner in the Competition:
a) consents to the Promoter, its related entities or other entities associated with the
Competition making visual and sounds recordings of the Entrant (“Recordings”), including
at The Block Grand Finale. The Promoter, its related entities, the Sponsor and any other
entities determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion may broadcast, publish and
communicate to the public the Recordings and may use the Recordings for marketing
purposes, in any manner and in any media worldwide;
b) agree that they may be interviewed, photographed and/or filmed in connection with the
Competition and acknowledge that, although there is no obligation upon the Promoter to use
the Recordings or such photographs, images or footage, the winner consents to the
Promoter, its related entities, the Sponsor and any other entities determined by the Promoter
in its absolute discretion using (if any of these parties elect to use) their name, image,
likeness and/or voice, in any manner and in any media worldwide for an unlimited period of
time without remuneration, for the purpose of promoting the Competition (including any
outcome), The Block or the Promoter, its related entities, the Sponsor and/or any other
entities determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion; and
c) agree to participate in and cooperate with all reasonable media editorial requests of the
Promoter, its related entities, the Sponsor and any other entities determined by the Promoter
in its absolute discretion, including but not limited to, being interviewed, photographed and
filmed, and grant to the Promoter, its related entities, the Sponsor and any other entities
determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion, a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to
use such interview, footage and photographs in all media worldwide and will not be entitled
to any fee for such use. The inclusion of any such footage or photographs (including but not
limited to creative control of the feature) will remain with the Promoter, its related entities, the
Sponsor and/or any other entities determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion at all
times.
18) All prizes must be taken as offered. The prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not
transferable, exchangeable and cannot be redeemed as cash. The prize is not valid in
conjunction with any other offer.
19) In the event that a prize, or part of a prize, is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to
substitute the prize or part of the prize in its discretion with an alternative prize or part of the prize
to the same and equal or greater recommended retail value and/or specification subject to any
written directions from the various Lottery Departments.
20) It is a condition of accepting a prize that a winner must comply with all the conditions of use of
the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements (as applicable).
21) Winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should
seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their prize.
22) It is a condition of accepting the prize that a winner (and their companion, if any) may be
required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
23) In the event that either minor or major prizes are unclaimed, the Promoter will conduct further
draws at the same place as the minor and major prize draws as are necessary as stipulated in
Table B, in order to distribute the major prize if unclaimed by that date, subject however to all
reference to any relevant State and Territory regulations. The winner, if any, of such draw will be
notified in writing within two (2) business days of the draw and their name and locality will be
published on

24) The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that
permits the Entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries
submitted by that Entrant invalid.
25) The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the
user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition,
or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the
administration of this Competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in
operation or transmission, communications line or telecommunications, telephone, mobile or
satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
26) If this Competition is not capable of running as planned due to any reason whatsoever, including
but not limited to, programming changes, technical failures (either in the administration of the
Competition or the broadcast of the television program), unauthorised intervention, fraud or any
causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the conduct, administration,
security, fairness or integrity of the Competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole
discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law and subject to any written directions given by a
regulatory authority, to: (a) modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition; and/or (b)
disqualify any Entrant, as appropriate, including banning an Entrant from participating in future
promotions conducted by the Promoter, for any reason including, but not limited to, behaving in
any manner that is, as determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion, deemed to be
inappropriate or contrary to any broadcast codes, regulations or any applicable laws including
mentioning or promoting any product, service, venture or item or using inappropriate language or
saying anything that may in the producer's reasonable opinion be abusive, rude, threatening,
offensive, harmful or hurtful to any other third party.
27) The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries not received by the Promoter or delays
due to technical disruptions or for any other reason. An entry will only be counted as being
received when it has been received by the Promoter’s software system, not when it was sent
from the Entrant.
28) The Promoter reserves the right to request each winner to provide proof of age and identity.
Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter.
29) If the Promoter determines that the winner has breached clause 5 of these Terms and
Conditions, their entry will be deemed invalid and the prize will be forfeited and subject to the
unclaimed prize draw.
LIABILITY AND RELEASE
30) Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter, its related entities and the
Sponsor and each of their respective officers, employees and agents, exclude all liability
(including negligence) for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of
opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the
Competition, including, but not limited to, arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties
or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft,
unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost,
altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after its receipt by the Promoter) due to any
reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that
stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or an Entrant; (f)
participation in the Competition and/or (g) redemption of the prize.
31) The Promoter and its related entities and their respective officers, employees and agents will
take no responsibility for defective prizes or prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or
misdirected mail.

32) The Promoter will collect entrants’ personal information in connection with this Competition and
will use and handle the personal information in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and
the Promoter’s Privacy Policy at

33) Sponsor opt-in: The details of all Entrants who opt-in to hear from the Sponsor Fairfax Media,
Domain, ABN: 15 008 663 161 will be entered into a database and the Sponsor may use these

promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and
without any fee. By opting-in, Entrants confirm that they allow their details to be used for this

claim under those Provisions to, at the Promoter’s option, the supply of the relevant services
