A world-class dinner prepared just for you by Restaurant Mason’s Chris Thornton and Lake’s Folly wines personally matched by winemaker Rod Kempe. Sound enticing?

GOOD CAUSE: Some of the generous volunteers and supporters involved with the Build For A Cure house at Teralba.
The cherry on top is that it’s for a good cause. Helping children with cancer. The aim is to raise $650,000 or more for research to find safer treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

To enter, all you have to do is answer this question: For how many years has Restaurant Mason received a prestigious Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide chef’s hat?

TALENT: Chris Thornton, owner and chef at the one-hatted Restaurant Mason. He will cook dinner, just for you, a guest, and some new friends, with matched Lake's Folly wines. Picture: Simone De Peak

Four Herald readers who answer the question correctly will be able to bring a guest to the exclusive dinner, prepared and served by one-hatted chef Thornton. The dinner will take place on October 19 at the newly completed Build for a Cure house at Billy’s Lookout, Teralba. It was built from the ground up in just 21 days.

Work began on the luxurious four-bedroom, two-bathroom “Portsea One” home at Billy’s Lookout, Teralba, on August 29. It was architecturally designed by McDonald Jones Homes and built on 600 square metres of land donated by McCloy Group, using donated materials.

Last Sunday Scott Cam, of Channel 9’s The Block, officially opened the completed home. It has been fully furnished by Freedom, with all kitchen and laundry appliances provided by Electrolux and home entertainment by Panasonic.

Auction day is October 23, thanks to PRDnationwide Newcastle.

To enter, send your answer with your name, address and number to freelunch@theherald.com.au. Entries close on Wednesday, October 5, at 9am.

The story A seat at the chef’s table could be yours first appeared on Newcastle Herald.
