HOW TO ENTER:
Get a quote for a flight, tour, accommodation or combination of these, at a STA Travel store or by
calling 134 782, between 07-Sep-2016 and 31-Oct-2016.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Entry into
this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry. Entry is via a written
travel quote at STA Travel retail stores or via the National Contact Centre 134 STA.
2. Entry is free and open to Australian passport holders only, aged 18 years or older who get a
quote in writing for a flight, tour, accommodation or combination of these during the
promotional period. Northern Territory residents, employees and immediate families of the
Promoter and suppliers, providers and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible
to enter.
3. The promotion commences 07-Sep-2016 at 8.00am (AEST, Australian Eastern Standard
Time) and closes 31-Oct-2016 at 11.59pm (AEST, Australian Eastern Standard Time).
4. To enter the promotion, eligible entrants must receive a written travel quote from STA
Travel during the promotional period. Quotes may consist of any combination of flight/s,
tour/s or accommodation. Entrants can only enter in their own name as stated in their
passport. Quotes for multiple passengers will have one entry per person. There will be a
maximum of one entry per person, per month permitted provided unique quotes are
created and the above conditions are met. The first quote held within the STA Travel folder
will be deemed the entry.
5. There will be two (2) Major Prize Winners, one for eligible quotes issued from 07-Sep-2016
to 30-Sep-2016 and one for eligible quotes issued from 01-Oct-2016 to 31-Oct-2016, who
will be selected randomly to win the cost of their trip as quoted by STA Travel and no other
component of their planned travel or ancillary expenses as listed in Clause 8. If the quote has
been booked and paid in full, the costs of the booking will be refunded in the form of
prepaid CashFLEX Cash Card with the funds available in Australian dollars. Once a customer
wins the cost of their booking, the booking becomes non-refundable however all terms and
conditions of the planned trip remain the same including any additional fees payable due to
amendment. In the event the booking reference drawn belongs to a multiple passenger
booking, the winner will be deemed to be the lead passenger and the amount refunded will
only be applicable to that passenger, not the full amount of the booking. Acceptance of the
CashFLEX Cash Card is acceptance of these terms and conditions. The outcome of the draw is
final and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. Spending money, meals, travel taxes, travel insurance, passports, visas, transport to and
from departure point and all other ancillary costs, as well as obtaining any of these, are the
responsibility of the winner.
7. The Major Prize must be redeemed within 4 weeks of the draw date and at least 6 weeks
before the preferred travel date, otherwise it will be deemed to be forfeited by the winner.
Travel must depart after 14-Nov-2016 and completed prior to 30-Jun-2017. Once booked
and issued, all terms, conditions, travel validity & changes are subject to the airline’s fare
rules & charges for the applicable class of travel booked.
8. All components of the prize must be taken together or otherwise are deemed to be
forfeited. Travel is subject to booking availability and blackout periods may apply. Prize
cannot be used in conjunction with any other STA Travel or third party discounts or special
offers.
9. There will be two (2) Major Prize Winners who will win the cost of their trip as quoted by
STA Travel. The prize is valued at maximum of $AUD5,000 (Recommended Retail Price
including GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize value.
Prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be
taken as cash.
10. The winners will be selected by an STA Travel Marketing representative at 10am on Monday
3-Oct-2016 (for entries from 07-Sep-16 until 30-Sep-2016) and 10am on Wednesday 02-Nov-
2016 (for entries from 01-Oct-2016 until 31-Oct-2016) at STA Travel, Level 3, 6 Riverside
Quay, Southbank, Victoria, 3006. The winner will be selected by way of a random number
generated by the tool
www.random.org.au. Entrants are not required to be present at the
prize draw. The winners will be notified by email following the judging (within 24 hours).
Their name and entry will be published on
www.statravel.com.au/competitions and via our
social networks. In the event that the prize notification email is returned as undeliverable,
such prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining (nonwinning)
eligible entries. Names of the winners (first name, last initial and city/state of
residence) may also be announced in the STA Travel e-newsletter.
The Promoter may award the prize to the second chosen entry if the prize remains unclaimed within
a 1 month period after the prize notification email is sent. In the event of any winner in the
unclaimed prize judging, the winner will be notified by email and the winner's name will be
published in a follow up eDM announcing the winner.
11. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, disaster or any other circumstance
beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to either provide an
alternative travel destination to the same value as the original prize or, subject to any
applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation, to cancel, terminate,
modify or suspend the promotion.
12. The Promoter, STA Travel, reserves the right to request proof of residency at the stated
address and identification for verification (to the Promoter's satisfaction in its discretion)
before issuing the prize. Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid.
Entries containing and/or depicting illegal, sexually explicit or morally or racially offensive
content will be ineligible to win. The Promoter's decision to disqualify an entry is final and no
correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility will be taken for lost, late or
misdirected entries.
13. The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered
(including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury
suffered or sustained in connection with the prize except for any liability, which cannot be
excluded by law. The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or
incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this promotion
if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter
including without limitation technical malfunctions or failures. Tax implications may arise
from the receipt or use of a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought. It is a
condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a
form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
14. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned because of infection by
computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, technical failures or any other
causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration,
security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the
right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion subject to
any written directions under applicable legislation. The Promoter also reserves the right in
its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has
breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct
calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter's legal
rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
15. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone
network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment,
software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any
combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person's
computer related to or resulting from participation in or down-loading any materials in this
promotion.
16. By entering this competition entrants consent that their personal details, image, audio or
likeness and entry submission may be used for the purposes of marketing and publicity by
the Promoter. Entrants will not be entitled to any fee for such use. All entries and any
copyright subsisting in the entries become and remain the property of the Promoter. The
Promoter collects contact information about entrants in order to contact them about the
promotion and where appropriate award prizes and may also use the information to assist
the Promoter in improving goods and services and to contact entrants in the future with
special offers via any medium including mail and commercial electronic messages. If you do
not provide the information, you cannot participate.
17. The laws of Australia apply to this promotion to the exclusion of any other law. Entrants
submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
