We've joined forces with The Garden Gurus, at this exciting annual community event to show you how you can transform your verge into an attractive and low maintenance waterwise garden.
Meet Trevor Cochrane and listen to local garden and horticultural experts at our waterwise garden display, located on the corner of Amherst Avenue and Richardson Avenue at the Claremont Showground from Saturday 24 September until Saturday 1 October 2016.

This competition is being run by the Water Corporation of Western Australia (ABN 28 003 434 917) (Water Corporation).
Instructions on how to enter and other details contained within the Water Corporation promotional advertisements for this competition form part of these Terms and Conditions.
Entry into this competition is free.
By entering this competition, entrants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
This competition commences at 12:01am (AWST) 24/09/16 and closes at 11:59pm (AWST) 1/10/16.
Entries must be received by 11.59pm 1/10/16 (AWST). The time of entry will in each case be the time the entry is received by the Water Corporation’s database. The Water Corporation accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries including entries not received by the Water Corporation or delays in the delivery of the entry due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
To be eligible,
entrants must:
only enter in their own name;
live in the Perth metropolitan area;
at the time of entry, be 18 years of age or over; and
be the owner of residential property within Western Australia which is services by the Water Corporation (the Property).Entrants may enter multiple times but can only win one prize.
To be eligible to win, entrants must submit a complete and valid entry, via an online form on the Water Corporation website between 12.01am (AWST) 24/9/16 and 11.59pm (AWST) 1/10/16. Entrants will be required to provide various personal details including full name, email address, the Property address, contact phone number/s, for the purpose of verifying eligibility. Any contact details entered incorrectly shall invalidate the entry.
All valid entries are made allowing Garden Gurus to contact the prize winner at a later date.
The prize winner:
must fulfil the entry criteria set out in clause 7 above;
will be selected at random by the Water Corporation.
will be notified by mail and email. No proxies will be accepted and the Water Corporation reserves the right to request the prize winner to provide proof of identity, age, and/or proof of ownership of the Property, to the satisfaction of Water Corporation;
agrees to participate in publicity or advertising, as requested, at no cost or expense to Water Corporation; and
agrees to have their name, profile image and competition entry published in association with this competition in both printed and digital publications as required by the Water Corporation.
Prize/s:
consists of one (1) of six (6) $12,000.00 + GST verge gardens, (each valued at $12,000.00 + GST retail), which includes plants, soils, fertilisers, garden design labour at retail market values. The approximate size of each verge garden is six (6) metres by four (4) metres, totalling approximately up to 24 square metres. ;
will be drawn at 5.00pm (AWST) on 15/10/16.
The entries at the time of draw that are deemed not to have complied with these terms and conditions will be deemed invalid.
The prize winner acknowledges and agrees that:
subject to the weather and any unforeseeable circumstances, each verge garden will be installed at the Property by the Garden Gurus by end Autumn 2017;
upon being contacted by Trevor Cochrane or Garden Gurus, each prize winner and Trevor Cochrane or Garden Gurus will agree on the date of the garden verge installation;
each prize winner is responsible for providing Garden Gurus with safe, suitable and timely access to the Property and work area, for material, personnel and equipment. Such access shall be clear and unimpeded;
it is the responsibility of each prize winner to provide Garden Gurus with 48 hours prior notice if the installation of the garden verge and/or work to be carried out on a specific day is to be cancelled;
Garden Gurus will not take responsibility for any damage to (or cost involved with) any reticulation, underground hazards, obstructions or services not made known to Garden Gurus in writing or apparent on visual inspection. This must be advised or visually brought to the attention of any staff at the Property during the first visit;
the removal of spoils, rubbish and/or waste from the Property is the responsibility of the prize winner. Garden Gurus reserves the right to refuse to install or complete the installation of the garden verge until Garden Gurus is satisfied that the large amounts of spoils, rubbish and/or waste from the Property is removed;
during the installation of the garden verge, Garden Gurus will take reasonable steps to protect the work, however will not be responsible for third party actions and unexpected occurrences such as extreme weather conditions or any other event that one could not reasonably predict;
any issues with the verge garden during and after installation are to be immediately directed to Trevor Cochrane of Garden Gurus by (emailing:

once the verge garden installation has been completed, all plants, installation, maintenance, removal, replacement, adjustment or repair of each verge garden is the responsibility of each prize winner;
the garden verge is at the prize winner's risk as and from the time when the garden verge is installed at the Property;
the verge garden installed at each prize winner’s Property may bear differences to the example shown at the Perth Royal Show, depending on plant and product availability, individual soil and climate conditions at the prize winner’s property, and any advice provided by Trevor Cochrane and/or Garden Gurus;
any local council approval required for the installation of the garden verge is the sole responsibility of the prize winner;
it is each prize winner’s responsibility to be available throughout the installation of the garden verge, to answer queries, give directions and check and ensure the suitability of the works carried out by Garden Gurus is relative to its requirements;
The Water Corporation’s decision regarding the prize winners will be final.
Employees (1) (including contract and agency staff) of Water Corporation and their immediate families (2) are not eligible to enter or to win any prize offered in this competition.
The Water Corporation will make all reasonable effort to locate the prize winner. If the Water Corporation is unable to locate a prize winner within thirty days of the original prize draw, the Water Corporation will conduct a re-draw in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The original prize winner will forfeit the prize draw and the winner of the unclaimed prize will be notified by mail and email within 14 days of the draw. The Water Corporation shall not be liable for any late, lost, or misdirected entries including entries not received by the Water Corporation’s or delays in the delivery of the entry due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
The Water Corporation shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct and consequential loss), or for any personal injury suffered or sustained, as a result of entering this competition or installation of each garden verge.

All on-site insurances will be the responsibility of each prize winner.

2 Immediate family shall be deemed to include mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, husband, wife or de-facto husband or wife, living at the same residential address as the employee, contract or agency staff.
