Flight Voucher promotion1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these conditions. Entries must comply with these conditions
to be valid.

Entry is open to residents of Australia over the age of 18 who have registered for the October 2016 Walk in Her Shoes Challenge (“Challenge”), agree to be contacted by CARE Australia upon registering for the Challenge and who have a valid Instagram account.3. Employees, agencies or paid influencers of CARE Australia (“CARE”) or their family members, or anyone else connected with this promotion are ineligible to enter.
4. To enter, each entrant must:
(a) register as a participant for the October 2016 Walk in Her Shoes challenge by signing up on the campaign website (
https://walkinhershoes.org.au/signup/) between 8 August 2016 and 23 October 2016; and
(b) during the Promotional Period, follow @CAREAustralia on Instagram and post an original photo or video showing the entrant “walking in her shoes” to support CARE’s work on the entrant’s own Instagram account including the hashtags #WalkInHerShoes #CAREcontest and the @CAREAustralia handle in the caption. Entrants should ensure that their Instagram account is set to “public” prior to posting or that their settings allow their entry to be viewed by users that aren’t currently “followers” on their Instagram account.

Multiple entries are permitted provided that each entry is unique. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. Photos or videos which feature more than one person will be judged as a whole, and not based on any one individual, but only the entrant will be eligible to win a prize. Further, each image will only be eligible to win once, even if the same image is submitted by multiple entrants (e.g. group photos).
6. By uploading a photo or video to enter in accordance with clause 4, each entrant agrees that:
(a) the photograph may be made available for public viewing on CARE’s website (at walkinhershoes.org.au) (“Website”) and CARE’s owned social media pages including Instagram;
(b) each person depicted in the photo or video uploaded must be decently dressed and presented and the photo or video must not be inappropriate,
derogatory or otherwise offensive to any person;
(c) all photos or videos are subject to the approval of CARE. CARE reserves the right to vet all entries at any time and may request the removal of any entries from Instagram at any time in its absolute discretion. However, CARE is not responsible for any photos or videos uploaded to Instagram or the Website and visitors to each site view it at their own risk;
(d) entrants must own the copyright in the photo or video uploaded or be entitled and have permission to use the photo or video in the manner contemplated by these terms, including use of the photo or video for promotional purposes in accordance with clause 18;
(e) the entrant has the permission of each other person featured in the photo or video, or, if any other person is under the age of 18, the permission of their parent or legal guardian, to enter the photo or video in accordance with these terms and conditions, including consent to each condition in this clause 6; and
(f) the entrant has notified each other person featured in the photo or video, or, if any other person is under the age of 18, that person’s parent or legal
guardian, of CARE’s privacy policy (available at
https://www.care.org.au/privacy-policy/) and each person or parent or legal guardian (as the case may be) has agreed to that privacy policy.
7. CARE accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason or for any loss, damage or injury as a result of technical or telecommunications problems, including security breaches. If such problems arise, then CARE may modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the promotion. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt by CARE.
8. The promotion commences at 12:01am AEST on Monday 26 September 2016
and closes at 23:59 AEDT on Sunday 23 October 2016 (“Promotional Period”). Entries received outside this time period will not be considered.
9. This is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winner. All entries will be judged individually on their merits based on creativity, originality and how well the entry shows the entrant “walking in her shoes” to support CARE’s work. Judging will take place at 11:00am AEDT on Wednesday 26 October 2016 at Level 8, 406 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000. Entries will be judged by a panel of judges from CARE. The best entry, as determined by the judges, will win the prize. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
10. The prize consists of a voucher to the value of AUD$1000 for travel on Virgin Australia’s Domestic Network. There is one prize to be won. Total RRP value of prize = AUD$1000. Voucher expires on 14 September 2017 and must be used to book flights before that date. The prize is subject to Virgin Australia’s terms and conditions, which are available at walkinhershoes.org.au/competition/virgin.
11. CARE accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize. All other ancillary costs including but not limited to insurance, taxes (excluding GST), meals, drinks, transfers and any and all other expenses are the responsibility of the winner.
12. The winner will be notified by email and/or Instagram private message by Friday 28 October 2016 and must respond to CARE’s email by Friday 11 November 2016 to confirm identity and provide a postal address to claim their prize. Their name, suburb and state will be published on the Website.
13. If the winner does not respond to CARE’s email by Friday 11 November 2016 the prize will be awarded to the next best entry. The winner will be notified by email by Monday 14 November 2016 and that winner will have to respond to the email by Monday 28 November 2016 to claim their prize. The name, suburb and state of the winner will be published on the Website.
14. The prize will be sent to the winner by CARE by post within 5 days of the date of the winner providing their postal address to CARE.
15. The prize is non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash.
16. CARE retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value in the event the original prize offered is not available for reasons beyond CARE’s control, subject to any written directions from the various authorities.
17. CARE reserves the right to request verification of age, identity and residential address of winners and any other information from entrants relevant to entry into or participation in this promotion. Verification is at the discretion of CARE, whose decision is final. CARE reserves the right to disqualify any individual who provides false information, fails to provide information, conspires with others to gain an unfair advantage or who is otherwise involved in any way in manipulating, interfering or tampering with the conduct of this promotion.
18. Entrants confirm and promise that their entry is original and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. Further, entrants agree that CARE has an unrestricted, irrevocable, transferable, divisible right and license to use and modify their entry for the purposes of CARE’s business including for promotional purposes without the payment of any further fee or compensation. If requested by CARE, the entrant agrees to sign any further documentation required by CARE to give effect to this arrangement. To the extent permitted by law, entrants unconditionally and irrevocably consent to any act or omission that would otherwise infringe any moral rights in their entry.
19. Entrants acknowledge that use of Instagram is subject to the terms and conditions of Instagram. CARE is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by any entrant as a result of the conduct of Instagram, including the decision of Instagram to remove or not remove any photos or videos, except for liability which cannot be excluded by law.
In particular, the thoughts and views expressed on Instagram are only the thoughts and views of the individual that posted them. They are not representative of the opinions of CARE, nor does CARE confirm, guarantee or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any post. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram.
20. Entries remain the property of CARE. Details from entries will be collected and used for the purposes of conducting this promotion (which may include disclosure to third parties for the purpose of processing and conducting the promotion) and for promotional purposes surrounding this promotion. By entering this promotion, entrants consent to the use of their information as described and agree that CARE may use this information, or disclose it to other organisations that may use it, in any media for future promotional purposes without any further reference or payment to the entrant. CARE accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered or sustained by the winner or any other person sharing the prize with the winner as a result of the conduct of Virgin Australia or otherwise as a result of the winner accepting and/or using a prize (even if caused by negligence), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. CARE further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the promotion.
22. CARE reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this promotion with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of CARE in all matters is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
23. CARE shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
