Richard Strauss's A Hero's Life is music musicians dream to play and audiences thrill to hear.

Expect close to a hundred people on stage, as they bring to life the hero's theme, his battles, ensuing peace, and finally, his retirement from the mortal world.

Also on the program: Beethoven's Piano Concerto No 3, which came straigjht from the heart of its composer and was a showcase for his own amazing pianistic talents. It is performed by a rising star on the international piano scene, Australian Jayson Gillham.

The concert is conducted by internationally acclaimed ASO Principal Guest Conductor Jeffrey Tate.
