But most importantly for both parents and anyone who loves their dried food produce, making your own means you are reducing your intake of sulphites which are found in (non-organic) dried food products. If you flip the pack of a regular dried fruit pack you will most likely see the numbers 220-228 which are the sulphite preservative group.
Whilst not everyone has an allergy to these preservatives they can cause severe reactions for many asthmatics. Other individuals may find they suffer headaches, skin rashes and headaches when consuming sulphites.
