The hottest teams of fast-thinking comedians from across the country are descending on Sydney… and state pride is at stake!
They’re here battle it out for the Theatresports National Championship crown. And they’re not taking prisoners!
Like Whose Line is it Anyway? or Thank God You’re Here! on adrenaline, it’s the Sydney Comedy Festival’s annual must-see gala show.
This year, Sydney's Cranston Cup champions, “We Thought This Was a Council Meeting”
(Sarah Gaul, Robert Boddington and Jack Ballhausen, pictures attached),
will take on the best visiting teams from Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide & Canberra.
With champion Maddie Parker (Crash Test Dummies) hosting a along with musical improviser Bryce Halliday leading a four piece band!
Representing Victoria are Jenny Lovell, Amy Moule, Sarah Kinsella and Anna Renzenbrink (pic attached)
South Australia features Anne Mayer, Eden Trebilco and Sam Calleja; Queensland is Tom Dunstan, Brittany White and Amy Currie;
WA stars Glen Hall and Chris Bedding, with the ACT team made up of Nick Byrne, Sophie Hope and Hen Gissane.
Theatresports® is Australia’s longest running-comedy show. Teams compete at quick-fire sketches to delight the audiences and impress the judges. For over 25 years, performers have taken the ultimate leap into the comedy unknown, creating theatre magic off the top of their heads!
Former national Theatresports champions include Jordan Raskopoulos (Axis of Awesome),
Andrew O’Keefe (Sunrise) and Tom Walker (Whose Line is It Anyway Australia?).
