Carsales 20th Anniversary Competition ConditionsGeneralA. Information on how to enter forms part of these conditions. Entry into the competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
B. The Promoter is carsales.com Ltd, Level 4, 449 Punt Road, Richmond VIC 3121 ABN 91 074 444 018, tel: 1 300 7253.
C. For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, carsales.com Ltd includes all related and subsidiary companies, past present and future officers, agents, representatives, employees, and assigns.
D. All entry instructions and prize information published by the promoter form part of these conditions. By entering, entrants accept these conditions.
EntryA. Entry is only open to Australian residents who are 18 years or over. Employees (and their immediate family members) of the Promoter and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. "Immediate family members" means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto, ex-de-facto, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
B. This competition is only open to non-commercial car buyers and sellers. A non-commercial car buyer or seller is an individual who is not seeking to buy and sell a car on behalf of a business.
C. The competition commences at 9.00am AEST on 13th July 2017 and closes at 5.00pm AEST on 8th September 2017 (the “Entry Period”). The promotion runs for 58 consecutive days with all winners drawn on 14th September 2017 as detailed below.
D. Eligible Entrants can enter the competition by doing one or more of the following actions within the promotional period on carsales.com.au:
- List a car for sale on carsales.com.au;
- Become a carsales member and complete the entry form; or
- Purchase a CarFacts History Report, Redbook Inspection, RedBook Warranty or PayProtect (carsales “Adjacent Products”); provided that each entry complies with these conditions; together “Entry Actions”.
E. Multiple entries are permitted and each additional Entry Action gives a participant one more entry into the competition provided that each entry must comply with these conditions together with any specific conditions relevant to the Entry Action:
- List a car for sale on carsales.com.au – for an entry to be eligible, participants must comply with all carsales.com.au terms and conditions of selling as displayed at: [www.carsales.com.au/giveaway]. An entry will only be eligible if the ad listing is approved. Each valid listing will be considered an additional Entry Action. This includes free, standard, Premium and PremiumPlus listings.
- Become a member and complete the entry form – participants who sign up as a member and complete the entry form via the link from the competition landing page [www.carsales.com.au/giveaway] will be eligible for an entry. Only one membership entry per individual will be counted towards the draw.

PrizesA. There are 2 major prizes and a total of 510 minor prizes:
Major Prize x 2 packagesA trip for two adults to meet F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo in Austin, Texas. Travel dates: Wednesday, 18th October – Tuesday 24th October 2017*.
Each major prize package includes:
- 2 x return Premium Economy flights from any state capital city in Australia, estimated RRP $1690 AUD each (flights to be chosen by the Promoter).
- 6 nights’ 4* accommodation in one room (double bed or twin share at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center. Estimated RRP $650 AUD).
- Spending money for 7 days $600 AUD ($300 AUD per person) per day (total $4,200 AUD).
- 2 x tickets to the Austin Grand Prix race Saturday and Sunday (access to paddock club) $5,400 AUD per ticket.
- Meet and greet with Daniel Ricciardo on Monday, 23rd October.
Each major prize package is valued at approximately $22,280 AUD (including GST where applicable). Total major prize value: approximately $44,560 AUD (including GST where applicable).
*Note: Return flight will depart Austin, Texas on 24th October 2017, however due to travel times, may arrive back in Australia at a later date.

B. Each major prize is subject to additional Trip Conditions set out in Section 5 below.
C. The Prepaid Visa Gift Cards have their own terms and conditions of recipients of the car should ensure they review those terms and condition to ensure they comply
D. This competition is a game of chance.
DrawA. The draw will take place at 9.00am on 14 September 2017 at 449 Punt Road Cremorne, 3121, Australia. The draw will be conducted by the Promoter and overseen by an independent scrutineer.

B. The draws will commence at 9am on 14th September 2017 and will be drawn in the following order: 1. 2 x Trip to Texas, 2. 10 x $1000 Prepaid Visa Gift Cards, 3. 300 x Official Red Bull Caps, 4. 200 x $20 Prepaid Visa Gift Cards.
C. When an entry is drawn as a winner, that entry becomes void for further draws. If a winner has multiple entries into the competition, the remaining entries remain eligible for all future draws until drawn. However if an entrant has been drawn as the winner of a major prize (US trip), their additional entries will not be eligible to be drawn again as a major prize, but will be eligible for minor prizes draws.
D. No compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to take any element of a prize as stated, or does not satisfy any conditions of use for any element of the prize (including conditions imposed by event organisers or staff, or other prize providers, such as health, behaviour, age and safety requirements) for whatever reason. Any part of a prize that is not taken for any reason is forfeited and no compensation will be provided.
E. If a prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, substitute alternative goods or services of equal or higher value. The Promoter accepts no other liability or responsibility for any loss incurred by a winner or any other party if a prize (or part of prize) is unavailable for any reason.
F. Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-replaceable, and non-redeemable for cash.
G. If for any reason any component of this competition is not capable of running as planned, or is interfered with or disrupted in any way (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, weather event, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or technical failures), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, or invalidate any affected entries.
H. Prizes include GST and taxes (where applicable).
I. The major prize winner(s) of the US trip will be notified by email on 14th September 2017 using the email address provided in connection with the Entry Action and reasonable attempts will also be made to contact the winner by telephone.
J. All minor prize winners will be notified by email to the email address provided in connection with the Entry Action on 14th September 2017.
K. Each prize notification will include instructions as to how a winner is to claim their prize. Each winner will be required to expressly accept these competition conditions in order to claim their prize. The major prize winners will also be required to accept the Trip Conditions and, together with their trip guests, sign a waiver of liability of the Promoter for any claims or loss arising from the trip.
L. Minor prizes will be sent to winner by post. Notified minor prize winners must provide the Promoter with an Australian postal address.
M. Redraw of major prize. If: (i) the major prize(s) is not claimed by the initial winner(s) or the Promoter has been unable (despite reasonable efforts) to successfully contact the prize winner by 10.00am 20 September 2017; (ii) the major prize is forfeited for any reason; or (iii) the major prize winner(s) is determined by the Promoter to be ineligible to win a prize in accordance with these conditions, the major prize will be forfeited and a new draw will take place in the same way at the same time as the original draw on 21 September 2017. Any resulting replacement major prize winner will be notified within 1 day of the redraw by email and phone using the details provided in their entry. That process will be repeated if required.
N. Redraw of minor prize. If (i) a minor prize is not claimed by the initial winner or the Promoter has been unable (despite reasonable efforts) to successfully contact the initial winner by 10.00am 20 December 2017. Reasonable effort in relation to a minor prize consists of one email and three telephone attempts (leaving voicemail where available). (ii) a prize is forfeited for any reason; or (iii) an initial winner is determined by the Promoter to be ineligible to win a prize in accordance with these conditions, the relevant prize will be forfeited and a new draw will take place in the same way at the same time as the original draw on 21 December 2017. Any resulting replacement winner(s) will be notified within 1 day of the redraw by email and phone using the details provided in their entry. That process will be repeated if required.
O. Tax Implications. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from accepting a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought.
P. Withdrawal. If a participant wishes to withdraw from the competition draw, they should contact the customer service department of carsales.com.au on
customercare@carsales.com.au or 1300 7253.
Trip ConditionsA. The person who completed the Entry Action and won the major prize must attend the trip together with a guest aged 18 years or over.
B. The major prize winner(s) must be eligible to travel to the United States of America. They and their specified guest must be available to travel at any time of day or night between the stipulated dates as specified in Section 3A which are not flexible.
C. The major prize winner(s) and their specified guest are responsible for arranging and paying any costs applicable for:
- travel taxes, travel and medical insurance, passports, visas and ground transportation to and from the departing and arrivals airport;
- luggage check-in and extra options (e.g. speedy boarding, seat and/or meal selection, upgrades etc);
- all other expenses including but not limited to additional ground transport, all other transfers, meals and beverages, gratuities, applicable taxes, hotel service charges, airport taxes, surcharges, additional spending money, personal expenses, souvenirs, upgrades, incidentals and all other expenses not expressly specified herein.
D. The major prize winner(s) may be required to present their credit card at time of accommodation check in.
E. The Promoter will determine the flight itinerary in its sole discretion and is under no obligation to accommodate requests by the winner(s) or their guest (provided that the flights must depart on the specified dates).
F. The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to provide the flight tickets, Grand Prix tickets and spending money to the major prize winner(s) on or before 13 October 2017.
G. It is the responsibility of the winner to provide correct full names of all persons travelling for the booking arrangements. The Promoter reserves the right to charge the winner AUD100 (or equivalent value) per guest per change in addition to any additional expenses (e.g. airline charges) that may be incurred due to misinformation provided by the prize winner or any change in itinerary made by the winner and/or their guest.
H. If the winner(s) fails to notify the Promoter of a change at least 48 hours prior to departure, requests a change at any time which cannot reasonably be accommodated by the Promoter or does not attend the departure airport in time for the departure flight, they will forfeit the entire prize (including their guest’s tickets, accommodation, spending money, etc).
I. No responsibility is assumed by the Promoter for any cancelled, delayed, suspended or rescheduled events once any tickets have been issued in relation to the prize for any reason whatsoever beyond its control.
J. The Promoter and its associated agencies, make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. It is the sole responsibility of each major prize winner (and their guest) to first check with all government travel advisory information regarding the safety and situation of their destination/event.
K. The major prize winner(s) (and their guest) are advised to consult their healthcare professional regarding recommended immunisations and/or health checks prior to travelling and to check for travel warnings and any perceived hazards with appropriate authorities, including
www.dfat.gov.au.
L. The major prize winner(s) is responsible for ensuring they provide correct personal details required for travel of themselves and accompanying person to carsales.com ltd (this includes, but is not limited to full name and age).
M. The major prize winner(s) must give the right to publicise their name and provide reasonable access for the Promoter or its agents to take video and photos during the trip and obtain quotes from the winner for publication on the Promoter’s website or social pages.
N. If a major prize winner(s) or their guest(s) gets sick, injured, loses personal property, or has anything stolen, they should liaise with local authorities and their own travel insurer in accordance with their insurance policy and promptly notify the Promoter of the issue.
O. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not be liable to the major prize winner(s) or their guest(s) for any loss or claims relating to the trip howsoever arising and the major prize winner(s) and their guest(s) must sign a release and indemnity reflecting this condition prior to departing.
