Terms and Conditions – Game of Chance
Competition – ‘How would you spend $1,000?’

Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. Participation in the
promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
All references to time in this document are a reference to the local time in Sydney, New South Wales,
Australia, on the date stated. The promotion commences at 12:01am on 3 July May 2017 and closes at
4pm on 24 September 2017.
Entry is open only to practising Australian general practitioners with a valid AHPRA number
(Eligible Entrants). Australian Doctor Group reserves the right to request proof of identity,
registration and current place of work. Australian Doctor Group employees (and their families) plus
contributors are not eligible to enter.
A different code word will be published in 12 issues of Australian Doctor, from issue date 7th July
2017 to 22nd September (inclusive) and 3 issues of Medical Observer and from Issue date July 2017 –
September 2017 (inclusive).
To enter, Eligible Entrants must fill in the required fields on
www.australiandoctor.com.au/competition and input the correct code word for that issue. Entries
close on Monday following the magazines issues date at 4pm or as stipulated in the advert for the
corresponding code word.
Entry is limited to one entry per prize draw.
The Promoter is not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries. The time of entry will be
deemed to be the time the entry is received by the Promoter.
The result of the prize draws is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
There are fifteen (15) prizes of $1,000 (2x$500) pre-paid EFTPOS cards each.
There will be fifteen (15) prize draws for the 15 $1,000 (2x$500) pre-paid EFTPOS cards and each
will take place at 4.30pm on the Monday following the magazines Issues date at Level 4, 475 Victoria
Avenue, Chatswood NSW 2067.
The prize excludes all domestic taxes and insurance, which is the responsibility of the winner. The
Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize.
All winners will be notified by email and the names and other details relating to the winner/s will be
published in either or both publications within 30 days of the prize draw. The pre-paid EFTPOS cards
will be mailed to the winners address as stipulated in email correspondence.
Prizes will be awarded to the person named in the entry.
Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting
the prize.
Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash.
The Promoter reserves the right to redraw in the event of an entrant being unable to satisfy these
promotion terms and conditions or forfeiting or not claiming a prize. For each prize that remains
unclaimed on 24 November 2017, a redraw will be held on 27 November 2014 at the same time and
place as the original draw, subject to any direction given under applicable law. Any winners
determined in accordance with this clause will be notified by email and on 27 November 2017.
It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form
determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
Pre-paid EFTPOS cards are subject to the terms and conditions imposed by the pre-paid EFTPOS
cards provider. Once awarded, the Promoter is not liable for any voucher that has been lost, stolen,
forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.
Subject to complying with all relevant State and Territory legislation, the Promoter reserves the right
to change, cancel or suspend the competition if an event beyond the control of the publisher corrupts
or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.
Any entrant who has tampered with the entry process or any other aspect of this competition will be
disqualified.
The Promoter and its associates assume no responsibility for any error or delay related to the
competition.
Any entrant found to be using any automated means whatsoever to submit multiple entries will be
disqualified.
If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter has the right to substitute the prize for a
prize of equal or greater value, subject to State and Territory legislation.
The publisher does not exclude any rights and remedies in respect of goods or services under the
Australian Consumer Law in the Competition and Consumer Act (2010) (Australian Consumer Law)
which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. However, the remainder of this clause will apply to
the fullest extent permitted by law and the publisher will not be liable for any loss or damage
whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury
suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s.
All entries become the property of the Promoter. As a condition of entering this competition you
acknowledge that Australian Doctor Group may contact you via email with information that may be
relevant to you and your industry.
