Set in England but fast-forwarded to World War I, in a world where steam is supreme, director Nicholas Renfree-Marks has created a fresh and very funny reimagining of a G & S classic. Starring seasoned performers from opera, musical theatre and comedy, this madcap melee of maidens fair and feisty, pirates rum-filled and rumbustious, and police crafty but cowardly, showcases Gilbert and Sullivan at their brightest and best.
