Parkes Shire Council and Parkes Chamber of Commerce have joined forces again to deliver their highly anticipated annual Christmas Shop Parkes retail campaign, which aims to drive spend into the local economy over the festive season.
Parkes Council’s Economic & Business Development Manager, Anna Wyllie said “this year we’ve made the Shop Parkes this Christmas campaign more accessible and exciting by going digital.”
“Instead of the regular printed catalogue, we will showcase the participating businesses and shoppable content via our website and social media pages.”
“In addition to the Facebook and Twitter pages, Shop Parkes will also have a dedicated Instagram account for residents and visitors to draw inspirations for gift ideas.”
Shoppers will also be able to spot participating businesses with their Shop Parkes posters displayed in stores.
Parkes Chamber of Commerce President, Geoff Rice said “not only do shoppers get to experience the fantastic array of products available locally, they also go in the draw to win a trip of a lifetime to a destination of their choice!”
“The campaign aims to drive local and visitor expenditure to the Parkes region, benefitting local shoppers and local business operators.”

The festive season will officially kick off in Parkes on Friday 1 December with the Parkes Christmas Street Parade, Parkes UpMarkets and Movie Night in Cooke Park, along with the illuminations and projections being ignited throughout the Parkes CBD.
