The prize for the best entry is two nights’ accommodation at Peppers Salt Resort and Spa, Kingscliff for two people, including breakfasts.
With Peppers Salt Resort & Spa being so close to Gold Coast Airport at Coolangatta, it means a quick transition into holiday mode.
The low-rise resort has a choice of accommodation ranging from hotel rooms to spacious apartments of up to three bedrooms with separate lounge rooms and full-size kitchens.
There are two pools for guests – a large lagoon pool with a sandy beach and shaded cabanas, and the smaller tropical pool – which are popular with families.
Some of the rooms have their own private plunge pools and lounges just metres from the verandah.
It’s a short walk to the patrolled Kingscliff beach, making it ideal for swimming, sunbathing on early morning walks along the water’s edge.
The resort has a large open park with a playground and barbecue facilities, plus tennis courts. Guests can hire bicycles and ride along the network of cycle paths bordering the beach or into Kingscliff.
Most guests spend their days poolside or at the beach, but if the weather forces you indoors, a large selection of free in-house movies are available, along with free wifi.
When it comes to dining, start with the resort’s Seasons restaurant for a buffet breakfast and a la carte lunch and dinner featuring local produce. The poolside cafe offers drinks and snacks throughout the day.
Salt village, located only a short walk from the resort, has restaurants, take-away outlets and other shops. The centre of Kingscliff is close by for shopping and meals.
The sunset/sunrise photo competition is now open with a limit of three entries per person and is not open to professional photographers.
