Century Yuasa Batteries National Marine Consumer Promotion 2017 Terms & Conditions
1. The Century Yuasa Batteries “Island Escape” competition commences 3 October 2017 and
concludes 31December
2017 at 17:00 (AEDT) (“competition Period”). Purchases and qualifying entries must be on or within these dates.
2. Directors, management, employees and their immediate families, retailers, suppliers, associated companies and
agencies of Century Yuasa Batteries Pty Ltd are not eligible to enter.
3. To enter the prize draw end users must purchase an authentic Century, Yuasa or Besco marine battery from any
Australian retail outlet during the promotional period and complete a postage paid entry form or online entry form
through
www.centurybatteries.com.au/IslandEscape 4. Incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.
5. For each purchase of a qualifying battery, the participant will receive one entry into the prize draw.
6. International internet purchases are excluded.

Entries must be received by 17:00 (AEDT) on 7 January 2018. The time of entry will in each case be the time the
online entry is received by the Promoter’s database. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or
misdirected entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
8. The cost of accessing the promotional website will be dependent on the entrant’s individual Internet Service
Provider.
9. Winners must provide a valid original receipt as proof of purchase at time of prize redemption.
10. The prize is a 7 night Hamilton Island holiday for 4 people which includes 4 x return economy airfares from your
home State to Hamilton Island, 7 nights’ accommodation for 4 at the Reef View Hotel Hamilton Island, breakfast
included, two day private fishing charters with lunch and equipment; including 1 day fishing with Matthew Hayden
and Andrew Ettingshausen, Scenic helicopter flight for 4, private Whitsunday sailing experience on a luxury
Catamaran including equipment, lunch and beverages, AUD $3,000 spending money. Travel insurances are
travellers’ own responsibility and expense. Optional activities are at travellers own expense. Total Prize value
$24,830.
11. Winners must be available to travel from the 3 March to the 10 March 2018. Dates are non-negotiable. Passenger
names must be confirmed with the promoter at least 1 month prior to the departure date of the 3 March.
12. Century Yuasa accepts no other liability or responsibility for any loss incurred by a winner or any other party if any
prize (or any part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason.
13. Total prize pool value is AUD $24,830.
14. Prize values based on manufacturers recommended retail price (rrp) as at July 2017.
15. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or any other form of compensation. The value of the prize is accurate as at the
time of preparation of this material. Century Yuasa accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of a prize
after that date. If a prize or any part of a prize is unavailable for any reason, Century Yuasa may substitute it for
another item of equal or higher value (where possible).
16. Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses including travel to and from the
event/departure point etc. become the responsibility of the winner.
17. If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of
equal or greater value, subject to State Regulation.
18. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the
Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition
necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may
be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
19. Once prizes have left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed
or lost in transit.
20. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated
by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu
of that element of the prize.
21. Entrants must be an Australian resident 18 years or over.
22. Winner of the prize will be drawn randomly on Monday 15 January 2018 at 11am at Century Yuasa Batteries, 65
Cobalt St, Carole Park, Qld 4300 in the presence of an independent witness. Winners’ details will be published on
the promotional website
www.centurybatteries.com.au/IslandEscape on the 22 January 2018. The winner will be
notified by phone within 48 hours of the draw with written confirmation to follow. If the winner cannot be
contacted within 1 month, a redraw will take place. The redraw will take place at 11am on the 12 February 2018
at Century Yuasa Batteries, 65 Cobalt St, Carole Park, Qld 4300 in the presence of an independent witness and the
winner notified by phone within 48 hours of the draw with written confirmation to follow. Details of the redraw
winner will be published on the promotional website

23. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co‐operate as required with all reasonable media
editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed
and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.
24. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and
the prize supplier’s requirements.
25. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the
Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and
conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil
unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and
recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any directions given under State Regulation.
26. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to
indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s
except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
27. Century Yuasa needs to collect personal information about each entrant and may for this purpose, disclose such
information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, gift suppliers and
regulatory authorities. Participation in the Promotion is conditional on providing this information. If the entrant
opts in at time of entry, Century Yuasa may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information
for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or
telephoning the entrant and for such other purposes as set out in our Privacy Policy. Entrants should direct any
request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter. All personal details of entrants will be stored in
accordance with the Privacy Policy. Upon the entrant’s request, information provided will be removed from
Century Yuasa’s active marketing database. To request details to be removed, or amended please email
