We have five in-season double passes to give away to Swinging Safari, a colourful satire of a typical Australian beachside neighbourhood, in the height of a 1970s summer.  This poignant comedy captures the innocence of an era of careless parenting, constant sunburn and suggestive adult behaviour.

Written and directed by Stephan Elliott (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), costumer designer on the project was Lizzy Gardiner (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert).

The film stars Kylie Minogue, Guy Pearce (The King’s Speech, LA Confidential), Asher Keddie (Offspring, Love My Way), Julian McMahon (Nip Tuck, Charmed) and Radha Mitchell (Finding Neverland, Love My Way).

Here’s a synopsis of the film:

1970s Australia: A 200-ton blue whale washes up on a local beach and the kids think it’s the biggest thing that’s ever happened in their lives.  Behind closed doors, the Mums and Dads of a quiet suburban cul-de-sac celebrate in their own special way, by joining the sexual revolution.  It’s a time of boxed wine, bad hair, bad styles, bad choices, but good times. And like the rotting whale, it’s all about to go spectacularly wrong.
