Information on how to enter and prize details set out in all communications regarding the Mastercard ‘Debit Rewards Event Cinemas – 1 Year of Movies Sweepstakes’ ("Promotion") form part of the Conditions of Entry. By participating in the Promotion, each entrant fully and unconditionally agrees and acknowledges that these Conditions of Entry and the decisions of the Promoter on all matters relating to the Promotion are final and binding.

The promotional period for this Promotion commences on Thursday, 1 March 2018 at 12:00am Local time in Sydney NSW and finishes on Saturday, 14 April 2018 23:59 Local time in Sydney NSW (“Promotional Period”).
Eligible entrants must be individual Debit Mastercard cardholders who are eligible to participate in the Promotion as set out in condition 5 (“Eligible Entrants”). Employees of the Promoter or the Promoter's associated agencies or companies directly involved in the Promotion (as determined by the Promoter) and their immediate family members are ineligible to participate.
Entry into the Promotion is open to all persons who satisfy the following eligibility requirements:
(i) is a citizen or resident of Australia; and
(ii) is of the age of 18 years and above; and
(ii) holds a valid identification card/document; and
(iv) is a Debit Mastercard holder; and
(v) participates in the Promotion by submitting a Qualifying Entry (as hereinafter defined).

The winner will be drawn at 12.00pm (noon) Local time on Monday, 16 April 2018 at Anisimoff Legal, Suite 5, Erina Plaza, 210 Central Coast Highway Erina NSW 2250. The winner will be notified by the email address provided with their entry within two (2) business days of the draw. The first one (1) valid entry drawn will win one (1) years worth of movie vouchers awarded in the form of 52x Star Vouchers (defined in Clause 13) to Event Cinemas worth $22 each (each a “Voucher”).
Total prize pool value is $1,144.
A Voucher entitles the holder to one Adult admission to any standard session at Event, Greater Union, GU Film House, BCC or Village Cinemas. Not valid at Moonlight Cinemas or Skyline Drive In. Vouchers expire 12 months from date of purchase. The onus is on the holder to use the Voucher on or before the specified expiry date. After this period the barcode becomes void and cannot be used. Voucher does not guarantee entry and seating is subject to availability.
Vouchers can be used to book on-line at eventcinemas.com.au or villagecinemas.com.au, booking fees may apply, or Vouchers can be presented at the cinema box office. Vouchers must be surrendered at the time of collection of booking or upon redemption at the cinema. Once the barcode has been used it becomes void. Barcodes cannot be used more than once. Surcharges apply to upgrade to Vmax and 3D screenings and must be paid at the same time as redeeming the Voucher. 3D glasses sold separately.
Star Vouchers are not valid for Gold Class, Movie Marathons, group bookings or any sessions classified as special screenings including but not limited to events, festivals, alternate content and foreign films. Vouchers are sold with the understanding that they will not be replaced or exchanged and are invalid without an expiry date. No refunds given except those required by law. No date extensions available. No change given. Vouchers cannot be transferred or sold without the prior written permission of the Greater Union Organisation Pty Limited. Any use of the company name, images or logos must have the prior written consent of the Greater Union Organisation Pty Limited. Standard film classifications apply. Valid for use in Australia only. Vouchers will be void and will not be redeemable if they are defaced, mutilated, altered or tampered with in any way or if the Voucher Barcode is illegible.
Event, Greater Union and BCC Cinemas may subject Vouchers to verification and security checks in its absolute discretion. Event, Greater Union and BCC Cinemas reserves the right to cancel any Voucher, or the Voucher scheme, for any reason at any time without notice. In these circumstances Event, Greater Union and BCC Cinemas may either provide a refund or replacement Voucher of equivalent value unless it reasonably suspects fraud in relation to a Voucher.
A draw for the prize, if unclaimed, may take place on Monday 16 July 2018 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority. The winner (if one is required) will be notified by the email address provided with their entry within two (2) business days of the draw. The winner’s name will be published online at

In connection with the claiming of the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to request proof from the winner of (i) him/her being a Mastercard debit cardholder, and (ii) his/her valid identification, in order for the winner to redeem the prize, failing which Mastercard reserves the right to disqualify such winner and award the same to an alternative winner. This may include requesting the winner’s Debit Mastercard BIN number, first and last name, phone number and email address.
The cost of accessing the promotional website will be dependent on the amount charged by the relevant Internet Service Provider and is the responsibility of the Eligible Entrant.
The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and Eligible Entrants (including an Eligible Entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Conditions of Entry, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
Event Cinemas has no liability for any act, omission or default, whether negligent or otherwise of any third party. Event Cinemas is not liable for any loss or damage occasioned by any negligent act or omission of any third party, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The prize is not transferable, exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash unless specified otherwise. The winner shall accept the prize 'as is' and Eligible Entrants acknowledge that the Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize.
The prize cannot be used for commercial or promotional purposes or resold.
In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion or suspend or modify a prize, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
The Promoter and its members, financial institutions, associated agencies and companies and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents, shall not be liable for any loss or damage, including any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Promotion or any Eligible Entrant's receipt or use of any part of the prize except for any loss or damage which is due to the negligence or willful misconduct of the Promoter or which otherwise cannot be excluded by law.
To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter and its members, financial institutions, associated agencies and companies and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents shall not be responsible in any way whatsoever in respect of the following: (1) technical failures of any kind including but not limited to any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications, line failure or the malfunctioning failure or unavailability of any computer, server, cable, line, network, hardware, software, internet service or web site; (2) unauthorised human intervention in any part of the entry process of the Promotion, including but not limited to theft, destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of the Promotion; (3) electronic or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries; or (5) any entry that is late, stolen, damaged or misdirected or otherwise not received.
