When we think of safety practices, we start to think about PPE, machine guards and how to properly lift a box. The term ‘workplace health’ is harder to define as many terms are used interchangeably to describe different concepts and initiatives. Examples include: ‘workplace health management’, ‘workplace wellbeing’, ‘corporate health’, and ‘corporate wellness’. Moreover, an individual’s or organisation’s understanding of these terms may differ.
The Centre for Work Health and Safety is undertaking a voluntary work health survey to measure what NSW workers understand the term ‘health’ means in the context of work health and safety.
We aim to obtain information about:
What ‘work health’ means to you,
What you consider to be the greatest risks to your health in your workplace,
What you see as the role of SafeWork NSW in relation to the regulation of workplace health.
This survey, along with a literature review, will help guide and shape our future work with information from the survey forming part of a larger consultation project and/or used to inform upcoming projects or workplace initiatives around NSW workers’ health.
Following completion of the survey, you can enter a draw to win one of five $100 Coles Myer gift cards. Survey closes 20 July 2018.
