and Conditions
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry to this game of skill
promotion. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. The Promoter is The Star Pty Limited, 80 Pyrmont Street, Pyrmont, NSW, 2009 (ABN 25 060 510
410).
3. The promotion commences 12pm (AEST) on Saturday 1 September 2018 and closes at 11:59pm
(AEST) on Sunday 2 September 2018 (“The Promotion Period”).
4. Entry is open to anyone who dines at BLACK Bar & Grill, Sokyo or Harvest Buffet for lunch or dinner
within The Promotion Period (“Eligible Entrants”). Eligible Entrants will receive one entry form per
person the Point of Sale.
5. Directors, management, employees, officers and immediate families of the Promoter and its
related bodies corporate, employees of associated agencies involved in this promotion are
ineligible to enter this promotion.
6. One entry per person.
7. The Eligible Entrant must fill in the provided entry form including full name, email and telephone
number.
8. The Eligible Entrant must answer the question on the form provided, “Tell us in the space
provided why your dad deserves the gift of time.”
9. A panel of judges will be appointed to judge all Eligible Entrants’ entries at the offices of the
Promoter, The Star Pty Limited, 60 Union Street, Pyrmont, NSW, 2009 on Monday 3 September
2018. One (1) answer judged to be the most creative from all entries will be awarded a Prize.
10. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. This is a game of
skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners.
11. The “Prize”*
• A watch from Kennedy at The Star valued at RRP $6,070
• One (1) night stay at The Darling for the Prize Winner and a guest
• Breakfast at Sokyo or Harvest Buffet for two (2) people
• A taste of the new Bar Menu at BLACK Bar & Grill
*A Tudor watch from Kennedy at The Star. Valid for stays between 6 September to 6 December
2018 (“Redemption Period”) in a Darling King Room at The Darling, excluding dates between 28
September to 1 October 2018. Subject to availability. If a room is unavailable during any of the
Prize Winner’s preferred dates within the Redemption Period, a mutually agreed alternative
date will be organised. Breakfast at Harvest Buffet includes full access to the breakfast buffet for
two adults valued at $39 per adult. Breakfast at Sokyo includes a Continental Buffet and an a la
carte dish with a tea or coffee per adult valued at $38 per person. The Prize Winner will receive a
gift card to the value of $78 or $76 to be redeemed at Harvest Buffet or Sokyo and a gift card to
the value of $150 to be redeemed at BLACK Bar. Gift cards cannot be partially redeemed or
exchanged for cash. Prize Winner must redeem the two dining gift cards during their stay unless
otherwise specified or agreed to by The Star. If any specified value amount is exceeded on the
bill, the Prize Winner is responsible for paying the difference to the restaurant.
12. Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or benefits. No further discounts apply
including The Star Club members' discount.
13. The Prize Winner and any other person(s) nominated to share the Prize with the Prize Winner
agrees to accept, receive and use the Prize at their own risk and will, at all times, indemnify,
keep indemnified, hold harmless and release The Star Sydney to the full extent permitted by law
from and against any and all claims, causes of action, losses, damage, liability, cost or expense
(including legal expenses on a full indemnity basis), incurred by The Star Sydney as a result of or
in connection with the Promotion and from all liability which may arise in respect of any
accident, damage or injury occurring to any person or property in connection with the Prize
and/or the Prize Winner. The Prize Winner and any other person(s) nominated to share the prize
with the Prize Winner will be required to sign an agreement to release The Star Sydney from and
indemnify The Star Sydney against any liability arising from the use or participation in the prize.
14. The Prize cannot be exchanged for other goods and services or redeemed for cash.
15. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation of any aspect of the prize, due to
circumstances outside its control. In any such event, an alternative element of the prize will be
arranged.
16. The Promoter needs to collect the personal information of entrants so that the entrant can be
entered into the Promotion. Without providing the Promoter with that information, the Promoter
cannot enter the person in the Promotion. The Privacy Policy of The Star Entertainment Group
http://www.starentertainmentgroup.com.au/privacy-policy describes the purposes for which The
Star Entertainment Group, including the Promoter, may collect, store, use and disclose personal
information.
17. Entry details become the property of the Promoter. Eligible Entrants consent to the Promoter
using their image, names, State of residence and entry details for promotional and/or marketing
purposes. The Prize Winner will agree to participate in reasonable promotional activities as
requested by the Promoter, unless otherwise notified to the contrary at the time of acceptance
of the Prize.
18. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by
computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other
causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security,
fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole
discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel,
terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
19. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect,
delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or
unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.
20. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone
network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software,
failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or
traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any
injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from
participation or downloading any materials in this competition.
21. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION ON A
WEBSITE, OR TO OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION,
MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE,
WHETHER SUCCESSFUL OR NOT, THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE
FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
