CALLING ALL BUDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

To celebrate 100 years of Southport, we want to see what makes our CBD unique to you. We are encouraing amateur photographers of all ages to submit an original photo of Southport for their chance to win over $3,000 worth of prizes from JB Hi-Fi.

Here’s how:
1. Capture a photo of your Southport.
2. Visit the Australia Fair or Australia Fair Metro website and upload your photo.
3. Vote for your entry and share with friends to collect more votes between Monday 13 August and Sunday 9 September.

Winners will be selected by a combination of public votes and a panel of professional photographers

1st Prize: Sony A7 Camera and lens, valued at $2100 rrp from JB Hi-Fi
2nd Prize: $600 JB Hi-Fi photographic equipment gift card

2. Scenes of Southport: People’s Choice
We’re looking for photos that capture everyday life in Southport, from people to natural landscapes. Winners will be selected by a public vote.

1st Prize: $500 JB Hi-Fi photographic equipment gift card
2nd Prize: $250 JB Hi-Fi photographic equipment gift card

Your photos can be taken with any camera or device and should capture your unique perspective of Southport.
The top photos from each category will be displayed in a photographic exhibition in centre from 17 September to 5 October.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. These official terms and conditions ("Conditions") apply to the “Southport Photographic Competition”
promotion (Promotion) conducted by YFG Shopping Centres Pty Ltd (ACN 056 974 844) as trustee of the Fu
Family Trust (Trust) and Trondage United Pty Ltd (ACN 163 695 065) as trustee for Lin Family Trust No. 2
(Trondage Trust) of c/- Retail First Pty Ltd, (Promoter) for Australia Fair Shopping Centre and Australia Fair
Metro Shopping Centre (Centre).
2. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions. Registration for and/or participation in
this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions. Acceptance of these Conditions is a condition of
entry to this Promotion.
Eligibility and Entry
1. Entry to this Promotion commences at 9am on Monday 13/08/2018 and closes at midnight on Sunday
09/09/2018 (Entry Period).
2. To be eligible to enter the Promotion an individual must be:
(a) an Australian resident; and
(b) an Amateur Photographer,
(Entrant)
3. For the purpose of these Conditions, an Amateur Photographer is any person other than a person who obtains
remuneration in exchange for providing photographic works (either as a business owner or an employee).
4. The Promoter, Retail First Pty Ltd, retailers of the Centre and their respective officeholders, employees,

agents, contractors, and their Immediate Family Members are not eligible to be Entrants. (Immediate Family

Entry
5. To enter the Promotion and be eligible for a Prize an Entrant must:
(a) take an original photograph of Southport;
(b) upload the photograph to the competition platform by visiting either the Australia Fair or Australia
Fair Metro website and following the relevant instructions; and
(c) caption the photograph with an original caption.
during the Entry Period.
6. There will be 2 categories available to Entrants to enter their Entry:
(a) Elements of Design category in which an Entrant’s Entry must capture a unique perspective on the
architecture and built environment of Southport; and
(b) Scenes of Southport category in which the Entrant must capture everyday life in Southport from
people to natural landscapes.
7. An Entrant may enter an Entry into one or both categories.
8. An Entrant may enter more than one Entry.
Photograph Entry requirements
9. All images used as an Entry must:

(a) Be between 2MB and 10MB in size;
(b) depict some aspect of and/or relate to Southport, Queensland;
(c) be the Entrant’s own original work; and
(d) be taken during the Entry Period.
10. Entrants must own the copyright of the photograph uploaded or otherwise be entitled to use the photograph
as an Entry, including an entitlement to grant a licence to use the photograph in accordance with clause 25.
Entrant’s Obligations
11. Entrants warrant and agree that, without limitation:
(a) they will not submit an Entry (including without limitation, the image, the caption and any other
associated content) (Content) that is unlawful or fraudulent or that may be in breach of any
intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights, defamatory, obscene, derogatory,
pornographic, sexually inappropriate, politically incorrect, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening,
racist, ageist, sexist, objectionable with respect to religion, origin or gender, not suitable for children
under 15, or otherwise unsuitable for publication;
(b) they will only submit Content which they have personally created and have the right to submit;
(c) their entry will not contain viruses or cause injury or harm to any person or entity;
(d) they have obtained the consent of all persons shown or depicted in the Entry;
(e) they have obtained the consent of all parents and/or legal guardians of any child shown or depicted
in the Entry;
(f) they will comply with these Conditions and with all applicable laws and regulations, including without
limitation, those governing copyright, content, defamation, privacy, publicity and the access or use
of others' computer or communication systems;
13. Entrants agree:
(a) they are fully responsible for the Content which they submit. The Promoter may, in its sole
discretion, determine whether an entry will be posted, or remain posted on its websites. The
Promoter reserves the right to vet or remove any Content at any time in its absolute discretion.
However, The Promoter is not responsible for any Content uploaded to the site and visitors to the
site view it at their own risk. Despite any decision by the Promoter to post Content on its website,
the terms and warranties set out in these Conditions continue to apply;
(b) to waive, and hereby do waive, any legal or equitable rights or remedies they have or may have
against the Promoter with respect to the entries they submit and their use of the Centre websites,
and agree to indemnify and hold the Promoter, its officers, agents and affiliates harmless to the
fullest extent allowed by law regarding all matters related to their use of the site; and
(c) if an Entrant is under the age of 18, that the Entrant has obtained the consent of their parent or legal
guardian to enter this Promotion and the parent or legal guardian has read and accepted these
conditions.
Judging and Voting
14. Entries in the Elements of Design Category will be voted upon by general public via the competition platform.
Voting will close at Midnight on 9 September 2018. The top 30 Entrants receiving the highest number of
public votes via the competition platform will be submitted to a panel of professional photographers

appointed by the  Promoter to determine the overall category winner. Judging will take place on 11 September
2018.
15. The panel of professional photographers will judge the top 30 entries in the Element of Design Category on 4
criteria (each worth 10 points each) and will be attributed a total score out of 40:
(a) Criteria 1: Overall impact – the Entry evokes a sense of the diversity of Southport and is inspirational;
(b) Criteria 2: Originality – the Entry offers a unique perspective and/or a rarely captured moment;
(c) Criteria 3: Technique – considers the Entrant’s use of composition, lighting, framing, perspective, use
of colour;
(d) Criteria 4: Technical expertise – considers the Entrant’s use of sharpness, exposure, tonal range,
depth of range.
16. The Entrant whose Entry receives the highest number of points in the Elements of Design Category will be the
Category 1 Winner. The Entrant whose Entry receives the second highest number of points in the Elements of
Design Category will be the Category 1 Runner Up. Winners and Runners Up are collectively referred to as
Prize Winner(s) where the context requires.
17. In the event of a tie for first or second place, the panel of judges will determine the winning and second
placed Entries by a simple majority vote. If the judges cannot agree, then the Promoter will determine the
issue.
18. The decision by the panel of judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
19. Entries in the Scenes of Southport Category will be voted upon by general public via the competition platform.
Voting will close at Midnight on 9 September 2018.
20. The Entrant whose Entry receives the highest number of public votes via the competition platform will be the
Category 2 Winner. The Entrant whose Entry receives the second highest number of public votes via the
competition platform will be the Category 2 Runner Up.
21. In the event of a tie for first or second place, the panel of judges will determine the winning and second
placed Entries by a simple majority vote. If the judges cannot agree, then the Promoter will determine the
issue.
22. Prize Winners will be notified by telephone, email, the Australia Fair website and the Australia Fair Metro
website on 12 September 2018.
Exhibition and Future Use
23. The top entries from the Elements of Design Category and the Scenes of Southport Category (as determined
by clauses 14 to 21 (as applicable)), will be displayed in a photographic exhibition (Exhibition) throughout the
either of the Centres from 17 September 2018 to 5 October 2018 (Exhibition Period).
24. Entrants acknowledge that the Promoter has partnered with City of Gold Coast Council (Council) for the
Promotion and that the Council intends to document the Promotion (including the Entries) via its local studies
library (Library).
25. Entrants grant to the Promoter and to the Council irrevocable licenses to reproduce, publish, display and use
the Entries from each category in relation to:
(a) the Exhibition during the Exhibition Period;
(b) the Library; and/or
(c) any future marketing, advertising or non-commercial use.
The Promoter agrees to attribute the appropriate Entrant for his/her work when reproducing, publishing
displaying or otherwise using that Entrant’s Entry.
Prizes

26. The Category 1 Winner will receive a Sony A7 Camera and lens valued at $2,100.
27. The Category 1 Runner Up will receive a $600 JB Hi-Fi photographic equipment Gift Card
29. The Category 2 Runner Up will receive a $250 JB Hi-Fi photographic equipment Gift Card.
30. To be able to collect the Prize all Prize Winners must provide a copy of a Government issued identification
card containing a photograph of the Prize Winner’s identity and age.
31. If a Prize Winner is under the age of 18, their parent or legal guardian must provide the identification required
pursuant to clause 30 and must collect the Prize on behalf of the Entrant.
32. The Prize Winners must claim their Prizes from the Centre’s management office.
33. If a Prize is unclaimed it will be dealt with as directed by the Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation in
accordance with the Charitable and Non-Profit Gaming Act 1999.
General
34. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
35. The make and model of the Prizes is at the sole discretion of the Promoter and is subject to availability. If for
any reason one or more the Prizes is/are not available, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another
item for it, at its sole discretion, of equal or higher value.
36. All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving the prize(s) are the sole
responsibility of the Winners and Runners Up
