Blending time-travel antics with delicate family dynamics, Mirai of the Future is a brilliant film that tells the heartfelt story of a child struggling to cope with the arrival of a new sibling.
The film follows the story of four year old Kun-chan, who is struggling with the arrival of a new little sister, Mirai, in his family. Feeling that his new sister has stolen all his parent’s love from him, he encounters an older version of Mirai, who has journeyed from the future to find him.
Directed by Mamoru Hosoda (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars), Mirai of the Future is an absolute delight.
