The Macedon region is "naturally cool", and the Macedon Wine Region is making waves for both sparkling wine and cool climate varietals like pinot noir and chardonnay. 2. Entry is open to all residents of Australia aged 18 years and over. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.

3. To enter, log onto www.gourmettraveller.com.au and sign up to the e-newsletter. Register your details and tell us in 25 words or less 'What makes the Macedon Ranges naturally cool?'

4. Participants must fill out, in full, all mandatory elements of the promotion entry form in order for their entry to be valid.

5. This is a game of skill; chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on literary and creative merit. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. The Promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any change in the value of a prize occurring between the date of printing and the date the prize is claimed. Prize value mentioned is the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and is correct at the time of printing.

6. The promotion commences 10:00am, AEST 25 August, 2010, and closes at 00:01am, AEST 26 September 2010. The promotion will be judged by a panel of judges. Judging will begin on 11 October, 2010 at 11am at the judges' premises. The winner will be notified by mail using contact details provided in their entry.

7. The best entry as deemed by the judges will win a accommodation package valued at $2,000.00, including:
a. Two (2) nights accommodation for two (2) people at The Rochford Lodge;
b. Dinner one (1) evening for two (2) people at The Royal George Hotel;
c. Mixed dozen (12) bottles of wine from a selection of wineries from the Macedon ranges.

8. Prize components are subject to availability, and are non-transferable. All accommodation must be utilised by 30 April 2011. Block out dates apply and bookings cannot be accepted during special events, Australian school holidays or public holidays.

9. The winner is responsible for items of a personal nature including but not limited to phone calls, drinks and meals, petrol, motor vehicle insurance and travel expenses. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including but not limited to, where arising out of the following: a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunctioning (whether or not under the Promoter's control); b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Conditions of Entry; or e) anything arising out of or in connection with taking or using the prize.
